Position Snapshot/A Day in the Life: This Associate Engineer position will be within the Traffic Division of the Public Works/Engineering Department. With a team of 11 (7 of whom are primarily responsible for signal operations and maintenance), we are responsible for overseeing the City's transportation system, including supporting Capital Improvements Projects, Land Development projects, Street Maintenance, Planning, and others. Under the direction of a Senior Engineer or City Traffic Engineer, you will primarily be responsible for reviewing private development and capital improvement project related traffic studies, identifying impacts and deficiencies, and determining the most appropriate improvements and design features needed. Other day-to-day duties will also involve reviewing and preparing signing/striping plans and traffic control plans, investigating and responding to concerns from the general public, and participating in long-range planning activities.
