Major Duties Implement feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions, under supervision, to provide feedback and contribute to validation of the design. Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to create engineering drawings for the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions. Develop testing standards and procedures under the direction of professional colleagues. Support others by carrying out a range of product development and engineering activities, such as analyzing client situations or interpreting data. Find the most effective ways to respond to routine functional inquiries. Involves following procedures and precedents. Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure. Operate complex equipment and machines, adjusting diverse variables to achieve the best possible outcomes in terms of quality and productivity. Also responsible for generating solutions to simple and recurring inefficiencies. Extract relevant data from information provided by others, and input it into spreadsheets or standard formats. Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on policies and/or procedures, referring complex issues to others. Responsibilities As a Data Engineer Intern on the Berkley Technology Services (BTS) Berkley Data Warehouse Team, you'll partner directly with a team of highly experienced data warehouse engineers and architects. You'll gain hands-on experience related to the Berkley data warehouse. In this role, you'll: Develop ETL processes using Databricks Notebooks or ADF Develop and utilize Enterprise scheduler Develop Databricks Notebooks, SQL, Stored Procedures, API's Develop understanding of insurance, reinsurance, and financial data Develop RPA utilizing Python and/or UiPath Assist with implementation and management of DataStage, SSIS, Redgate,Fivetran,UiPath Collaborate with peer technical teams Qualifications At least three years of college or university coursework completed; preference is for some coursework related to computer science or similar area of study Registered student or recent graduate pursuing a major in an IT-related degree Prior related co-op, internship, and/or on or off-campus technical experience preferred but not required Computer Science Club member a bonus but not a requirement Experience leading group projects in a classroom, internship/co-op, and/or professional setting is a plus Experience leading group projects in a classroom, internship/co-op, and/or professional setting is a plus BTS is seeking to fill this position on a permanent basis and for those reasons, the Company is not considering applicants who require visa sponsorship now, or at any time in the future, for this particular role.
