Position Overview:
As a Mechanical Designer, you will play a critical role in developing next-generation DC Fast Charging systems for electric vehicles. This position focuses on designing robust, efficient, and manufacturable mechanical solutions for high-power electronics and energy storage systems. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in electronics packaging, thermal management, and structural design with a strong focus on design documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Innovative Design:
Design components for battery-integrated DC fast chargers and lab test equipment
Fabricate and assemble prototype parts for design validation
Documentation:
Prepare detailed drawings of mechanical parts and electrical wiring harnesses
Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) for new and existing products
Initiate and manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for controlled documents, specifications, and work instructions
Manufacturing Support:
Resolve manufacturing/quality issues for parts and assemblies in production
Design production test equipment and assembly aides
Support production line setup
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in MechanicalEngineering
5+ years' experience in electronics packaging design
Extensive design experience using PTC Creo Parametric CAD software package
Understanding of the applications of ASME Y14.5
Demonstrated success in designing for sheet metal, extrusion & injection molding processes
Experience with mechanical fabrication in a lab environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills:

Job Functions: (may include but are not limited to):
Assist in all aspects of the project development phase - including site visits, building audits, energy calculations
Generate energy models and perform calculations to evaluate feasibility of energy savings measures identified
Produce detailed construction documents using CAD
Assemble organized sets of project drawings and documents
Collect and analyze energy data, often involving field verification
Work collaboratively with designers and professional engineers to develop all aspects of a project
Requirements:
Must have undergrad degree in engineering from ABET accredited university
CAD experience is helpful but not required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills

About the Role
The Field Engineer Intern is responsible for aiding assistance to more senior staff (Project Managers, Superintendents) in the coordination, scheduling, quantity surveying, reporting, and quality control functions of a projects in Montrose and Parshall area. This is a task-based role that requires working knowledge of core elements of construction projects (field management, estimating, project management).
As a Field Engineer Intern at Moltz, you will:
* Perform a variety of duties including but not limited to administrative duties, update schedules and budgets, maintain cost control, and monitor labor material and equipment activities on the project
* Work with Project Managers/on-site Superintendent to update project schedule and budget to identify potential construction issues
* Attend all project team meetings, and document team meetings, action items, and other pertinent project deliverables/decisions
* Monitor project change management process, identify change events, submit change notices, track changes and optional changes in project scope, and present to the Project Manager when required
* Assist with drawings, drawing records, revisions, site instructions and change orders
* Support Project Manager and Superintendent with creating templates and supporting documents on behalf of project team regarding roles and responsibilities
* Record change orders and update site drawings
* Monitor payroll functions, cost accruals and reviews on a regular basis
* Maintain QA/QC and Safety records
* Review the Field Surveillance Reports (FSR) and initiate NCRs based on analysis and severity of findings
Qualifications & Experience:
* In progress Trade Certification or Technical Diploma/Degree in Engineering or related field experience is required.
* 2-3 years construction experience is a plus
* Strong presentation skills.
* Proficient with MS Office Suite.
* Proficient using scheduling and project management software
Compensation and Benefits:
* Hourly rate: $35-$45/ hour

Aptim is seeking an energetic and motivated intern to join our Project Controls team in the Baton Rouge **,** San Diego, Denver or Knoxville offices. APTIM's internship program provides students with the opportunity to apply skills gained in an academic setting to challenging projects and meaningful work assignments. Interns will be paired with experienced mentors and should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, finishing their internship having gained a broad experience in various aspects of Project Controls. This is a temporary position.
The STRIVE Internship Program is a 12-week experience running from **May 18, 2026 through August 7, 2026** . Interns are required to be fully available during **Week 1 (May 18--22)** and **Week 12 (August 3--7)** of the program. Week 12 includes **company-paid travel to an APTIM office** (location to be announced) for an end-of-internship celebration.
Interns are expected to minimize absences to ensure a meaningful program experience. The program observes **Memorial Day (May 25, 2026)** and **Independence Day (July 3, 2026, observed)** .
**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:**

**Basic Qualifications:**
