About the Role
Our client is seeking a Lead MechanicalEngineer to join their team and provide technical leadership for the mechanical design and development of the core technology, the "Node." The Node is a device designed to produce energy in the harshest ocean conditions for extended periods without maintenance. This role is crucial to the success of their mission. You will be responsible for the hull and the team that forms the backbone of our Nodes.
This is a role that requires deep structural design experience, ability to make outstanding technical contributions, and leadership abilities that are effective in a humble and high performance culture. While defining the design for the Nodes, you will build and manage a team to support the future iterations of the Nodes. The ideal candidate is a technical expert and a practical builder comfortable with personally conducting detailed design work, values working alongside our manufacturing team, and is a skilled leader who has well developed interpersonal skills and a passion for developing others. Responsibilities
Accountable for the Node Hull structural design and integrity.
Accountable for the team that defines the Node primary and secondary structures.
Lead and participate in design reviews with the internal team and interface with external fabricators and vendors.
Mentor and guide other engineers and designers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Oversee project documentation and create detailed engineering releases using drawings and GD&T as appropriate.
Partner closely with our Manufacturing and Operations team to produce new Node designs and design increments that achieve targets for cost and performance.
Develop and maintain expert level use of CAD software personally and within the team for engineering definition and release.
Requirements
A degree in mechanicalengineering, aerospace engineering, naval architecture, marine engineering, or another related engineering discipline.
Extensive experience designing components, structures, and assemblies from a variety of materials.
10+ years of 3D CAD modeling experience.
5+ years experience with large scale, safety critical welded steel structures.
Strong fundamental skills with hand calculations and experience with structural FEA.
Demonstrated experience building teams, leading, and mentoring other engineers.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to provide guidance to and receive it from engineers, designers, technicians, and suppliers.
A work history that includes at least five design, build, test, deploy/release/produce cycles for complex systems/vehicles.
Preferred Experience
An advanced degree in a relevant engineering field or 5 years of additional experience.
5+ years in a similar role.
Proficiency with NX/Teamcenter.
Understanding of engineering fundamentals relevant to marine systems (welded structures, mechanical assemblies, hydraulics/pneumatics, industrial automation & data acquisition, etc.)

Summary:
We are seeking a junior mechanicalengineer for our Beaverton office who will work with a competent multi-discipline team of peers with a wide range of experience levels.
Responsibilities:
• Designing mechanical and process systems and preparing construction documents with varying degrees of complexity. You will work with facility HVAC, process piping and exhaust, hydronic systems, and chip manufacturing equipment installations.
• Preparing engineering studies for mechanical and process systems that survey existing conditions, evaluate capacities, and make recommendations for corrections and upgrades.
• Preparation of P&ID drawings for various systems, construction specifications, sequence of operations, testing documents, and engineering reports.

BSc/BA in construction management, engineering, or relevant field experience.
Basic understanding of electrical construction and materials.
Proficiency with MS Excel, MS word, Primavera P6 & Bluebeam.
Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
Physical Demands

The PE Intern is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Mostly office-based. Typical working hours for the PE Intern may vary. Generally Monday - Friday during normal business hours, but when deadlines approach they may be required to work much longer hours, including some weekend work. The PE in the field may be required to work out of the office and sometimes to stay away from home for short to long periods of time. Some travel may be required for training/continuing education.
While performing the duties of this job, the PE Intern may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration; may be exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites (weather, noise, etc.).
Direct Reports
Typically none. The PE Intern may occasionally direct project administrator to perform certain admin tasks. May also work with labor superintendents and general foreman.

What You'll Do
As a Project Engineer, you'll be a key player in delivering high-impact projects that shape communities. You'll work closely with your Project Manager (your coach and mentor), Superintendents, and our in-house design team to ensure every detail aligns with the big picture.
You'll:
Support all phases of project delivery-from early design collaboration through final closeout
