This Engineer will design and develop components and subassemblies used in durable and consumable equipment designed by Ivenix. Display standard engineering principles to resolve difficult problems, from conception to final design with team input. Design complex electro-mechanicalmechanisms. Define, and demonstrate design meets engineering performance goals.
Independently define components, material specifications, and process techniques to ensure proper functionality and long-term performance. Optimize designs for low-cost, high quality, high reliability and high-volume assembly.
Generates GD&T drawings identifying critical dimensions according to tolerance stack up analysis and manufacturing process capabilities.
Performs and leads DFMEA according to product / system functional analysis, and updates designs (3D and 2D) and solutions accordingly.
Establish engineering design documentation including Design files, technical records and engineering changes.
Identify risks and resolve issues that may negatively impact project schedules and identify solutions to improve project schedules.Investigate new technologies and best practices. Guide the conceptualization of new methodologies and processes into implementation.
Prototype, debug, troubleshoot, and/or rework devices while maintaining quality technical documentation. Build and test prototypes to verify design function
Establishes and performs DoE to assess and characterize new solutions and designs.
Design and develop processes, tools or fixtures for assembling and testing products.
Perform and document failure analysis of returned product
Work with manufacturing departments to ensure final design is properly executed in the creation of mechanical products

Requirements

* Experience in selecting appropriate materials and fabrication methods based on engineering requirements.
* Experience using PDM to manage database and drawing revisions in accordance with FDA requirements

* Experience with system integration challenges such as thermal management of electronics, injection molded part design, and design for reliability.

Position Summary: The Intern, Test and Evaluation Engineering will assist in the design of firearm components and accessories and contribute to departmental goals as assigned. This temporary engineering position is intended for engineering students that are actively working toward a Bachelor of Science in MechanicalEngineering or Electrical Engineering. The Intern, Test and Evaluation Engineering will work in a team environment with the Research and Development Designers, Test Technicians, and Engineers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Create CAD design models using SolidWorks. Incorporate changes to existing engineering designs.
* Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings.
* Process engineering design change orders.
* Assist in the performance of tests and experiments.
* Analyze test data and write detailed test reports.
* Assist in the manufacture of prototype parts and products.
* Manage prototype parts and products inventory.
* Follow all range safety procedures when in any of the range areas.
* Must be able to travel infrequently.
* Consistently follow safe firearm handling practices.
* Must follow all required ISO procedures.
* Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
* Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education/Experience & Skills:
* High School diploma or equivalent required and pursuing a Bachelor of Science in MechanicalEngineering or a related discipline.
* Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
* Advanced coursework in thermodynamics, fluids, materials, mechanisms, CAD, or similar fields preferred. Prior CO-OP, internship, or design project work preferred.
* Must have basic proficiency in report creation.
* Ability to learn LabVIEW and MATLAB.
* Must have basic proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Must have basic proficiency using CAD software to create parametric solid models and engineering drawings, SolidWorks highly preferred.
* Experience with real time data acquisition systems and sensors, such as accelerometers and thermocouples.
* Experience using and maintaining firearms and/or related products is preferred.
* Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, in English, both verbally and in written form.
Working Conditions:
* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
* Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
* Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
* Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
* Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.

Position Summary: The Intern, Sustaining Engineering will assist the team responsible for the design and change authority of firearm product currently being assembled at SIG SAUER. This intern is responsible for assisting in the support of the Assembly floor through problem solving as well as drawing changes and updates to current products.

* Support the assembly, manufacturing and quality organizations in accomplishment of company goals for quality, delivery, and cost.
* Make drawing and model changes to existing product using SOLIDWORKS and Agile PLM system per SIG drafting standards and standard work.
* Provide engineering and drawing support for non-R&D related product line extensions.
