What Your Job Will Be Like We are seeking a R&D Mechanical Engineer to provide design-engineering support during the full life cycle of surety component development, production, and ongoing surveillance assessment of stockpile devices. These surety components play a critical role in assuring the safety and security of the nation's nuclear deterrent in a wide range of environments including severe accident scenarios. You will work on mechanism components with complex mechanical interactions in assemblies of over 100 custom designed/built piece parts. As an engineer in the Nuclear Deterrence (ND) mechanisms family, you will touch all aspects of product development from conceptual design and analysis to system retirement. Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) by improving their rapid-capability delivery process. The team will provide expertise in research and development, systems engineering, mission development, modeling and simulation, as well as ground and flight operations.
