The Mechanical Engineer works in the Tank Farm Project and Chief Technology Office Organization, supporting the Tank Farms Projects (TFP) Engineering team and will work closely with other engineers, project managers and internal/external agencies. This position will work within the Projects Engineering group supporting a wide variety of tank farm infrastructure projects using innovative approaches to solving complex technical challenges. This position works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off. Please be advised that the telework designation of the position may be changed in the future at the discretion of the company or project.#LI-TN1 Major Responsibilities: * Participates in the design, development, modification and evaluation of mechanical components and processes used utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) * Compiles, adjusts, and correlates data that will develop professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard mechanical engineering techniques, procedures and criteria utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) * Provides input to and/or maintains technical logs and records * Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines * Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for mechanical related matters * Coordinates development and presentation of material when requested * Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals Education and Experience Requirements: Level I * Requires a bachelors degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Chemical engineering with less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience Level II * Requires a bachelors degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Chemical engineering with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills: * Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without Bechtel visa sponsorship now or in the future. * Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education. * Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge) * Non-U.S. citizens from countries identified by the Department of Energy as posing heightened security concerns-including sensitive countries, state sponsors of terrorism, countries of risk, and other designated countries-are subject to additional security requirements that limit site access. * Excellent listening, oral and written communication, planning and organizational skills are essential. * Experience in fluid system design in processing facilities, DOE facilities, or DOD facilities preferred.
