Overview:
The Engineering Mechanic is responsible for performing skilled repairs to the building and equipment and to maintain the best possible condition at all times with the least amount of inconvenience to guests and employees.
Responsibilities:
Answer all guest issues
Answer all in-house departmental calls
Replace guest unit motor, thermostats, valves
Repair / replace all tub / sink faucets and associated piping
Remove and replace toilets
Replace light bulbs, repair lamps, replace outlets, switches, - guest room and public areas
Repair vacuum cleaners
Work with engineers on all piping jobs
Work with engineers on guest unit replacement
Remove and replace guest unit covers and side panels
Replace, adjust, reset all TV's
Clear all sink tub, and toilet stoppages
Change guest room filters
Replace smoke detector batteries
Remove and install guest room safes, bathroom locks, and closet door knobs
Remove & install hairdryers, mirrors, shower rods, towel racks, iron board and brackets
Repair and /or replace furniture handles
Remove and replace guest locks with security
Remove and re-install clean refrigerators
Remove and re-install black-out valance and refasten black-out shade brackets
Qualifications:
Flexible and long hours sometimes required.

The goal of the Huntsman Intern Program is to provide a structured program that will equip interns with the skills and experience to help prepare for a successful career. The internship program will allow interns to apply knowledge learned in school to a real-world manufacturing or R&D setting, and gain insight into the operation of a multinational chemical company.
As an Engineering Intern you will:
Assist in the development of Asset Life Plans, troubleshoot equipment failures, and identify corrective actions.
Identify process improvement opportunities related to these troubleshooting efforts.
Participate in the project scope and cost estimate development for projects assigned.
Work with engineers and construction coordinators on installation, testing, and commissioning of newly installed devices.
Assist with the troubleshooting of equipment in the field and provide technical support as needed.
Participate in both onsite and offsite technical training opportunities.
Be assigned small projects to lead from conception through completion.
Attend project team meetings and report project status updates.
Ensure compliance with all corporate procedures and guidelines. Ensure that annual required training is completed on-time.
Full time presence in the workplace is required. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
Collaborate with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives at all levels of the organization.
Assists other employees in accomplishments of Huntsman company goals. Follow instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
Full time college student at the Sophomore, Junior, or Senior level by the end of Spring 2026.
Must be currently enrolled at an accredited university seeking a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Mechanical engineering or equivalent program.
Must have 3.0 or higher GPA.
Must be eligible to legally work in the US without sponsorship
Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in chemical plant manufacturing and analyses.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
Able to build relationships across all organizational lines.
Excellent computer skills; especially proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Functions
The Mechanical Engineer I will work closely with team members too:
Review documents, diagrams, and analyses.
Produce drawings in AutoCAD, assist in calculations and analyses by hand or using relevant software.
Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure quality deliverables are submitted in accordance with the Contract requirements.
Assist in the production of detailed plans of action and deficiency reports to support the project objectives and schedules.
Assist with construction planning support activities.
Assist in the integration of the design in Production and work closely with shipyard personnel.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Reporting Relationship
This position will be reported to the Engineering Department Manager.
Qualifications
Education/Experience: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering.
Required
The qualified candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Ability to interpret Contract requirements and specifications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD.
Capable of learning department-specific software programs to assist in various analyses.
Desired
The following knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience are preferred but not required:
Experience with CDRL deliverables development
Experience with one or more ABS design standards, such as VR, NVR, INSG, HSNC, etc. highly desired.
0-5 years of Engineering experience in a shipyard, ship design firm or class society
