Reliability Engineers support the refinery's Maintenance Department through design and development of equipment related improvements. Such improvements include root cause failure analysis, optimization of maintenance programs in rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, etc.), and troubleshooting fixed equipment (refinery pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems, etc.). Reliability Engineers will also be continuously challenged to find new technology in design, materials and repair methods to achieve refinery goals of longer running times at lower costs.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $20 to $22 per hour. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.

Internship Assignment: Full Time - Summer 2026
* Assigned a mentor from within our existing engineering staff to provide oversight for your activities
* Assigned several projects to lead or assist other toward completion:
* Design drawing revisions
* Conceptual design/scoping of work
* Small design projects
* Creating bid documents
* Preparing bid reviews/comparisons
* Field work including equipment inspections, data gathering, and oversight for equipment installation
Internship Qualifications:
* Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
* Must have completed 30 or more credit hours by the end of the spring 2026 semester
* Must be a full-time student attending an accredited two-year or four-year college/university
* Preferred majors: Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
