Actively supports sales with qualifying leads, developing new opportunities, assigning engineering projects, and other activities.
Supports development of technical sales and marketing material using a variety of platforms, e.g., presentations, web content, and key points of interest for onsite tours.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering -Or-
An Associate's with 2+ years of experience in a highly technical field with strong mechanical aptitude. 5+ years relevant experience in mechanical engineering design preferred. Equivalent combination of aptitude, background, and experience may be considered.
Computer/System Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of
Solidworks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD system.
The ability to learn PEM internal systems (e.g., Made2Manage ERP).
The ability to develop an understanding of ISO 9001:2015 requirements as they apply to PEM in general and Engineering in particular. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Mechanical Design Engineer
Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the concept and development of mechanical components and systems that may include multiple plastic processes, castings or forgings, stampings, laser cut parts, and welding or bonding of components.
Responsibilities
Communication with suppliers and customers on product selection and integration
Use of Creo and Windchill to support 3-D Modeling of components, sheet metal and possibly hydraulic or electrical routings.
Creation and support of 2D drawings and specification documentation
Work with manufacturing, product verification and validation, and suppliers to develop efficient and cost effective designs
Compile and furnish necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers.

What We Offer

TRC is seeking highly motivated and diverse Gas/Utility Engineer Interns for our CO-OP/FULL TIME program out of our Cedar Rapids, IA Office. This is a paid full-time position. This is an entry-level position with the ideal candidate having 0-2 years of experience and an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification. Undergraduate degrees in Civil or Mechanical Engineering are desired. This position has the potential to transition into a Full-Time role upon graduation. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders and partner with engineers, scientists, and technologists.
Responsibilities
* Performs routine engineering calculations and prepares sketches for a specific segment of a project.
* Gathers information for and assists in the preparation of technical specifications and material requisitions.
* Organizes and tracks various project activities i.e. material requisitions, vendor submittals etc.
* Reviews vendor drawings and bids to determine compliance with specifications.
* Prepares information to be shown on drawings and reviews drawings when completed.
* Gathers, organizes and maintains data sets for specific segments of a project.
* Proficient with discipline specific software packages.
* Undertakes assignments that require some independent work and responsibilities.
* Participates in project cost estimating.

What We Offer
Compensation: This is a salaried non-exempt role and emloyees in this role are eligible for overtime. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $59,000 - $70,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for the BroadBase Incentive (BBI) program with a target payout of 2%.
Location and Schedule: This position is located in Marshalltown, Iowa and will be in the office Monday through Friday.
