Usually, mechanical inspectors don't need a college education. The most common degree for mechanical inspectors is associate degree with 30% graduates, with only 28% mechanical inspector graduates earning bachelor's degree. Mechanical inspectors who decided to graduate from college often finish Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology or University of Phoenix. Some good skills to have in this position include calipers, micrometers and mechanical inspection.
