Mechanical systems engineer job description

BAE Systems is seeking a full-time employee to be part of our Interface Coordination team working on the US and UK TRIDENT Submarine Strategic Weapon System and US Attack Weapon System programs. The selected candidate will work closely with numerous engineering teams supporting Strategic Systems Programs.

Our primary function is to ensure that all weapon system interface requirements are correctly defined and properly coordinated. This is achieved by performing technical change evaluations and interfacing with government and contractor activities to define Weapon System Coordinated Interfaces.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills


Have the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance Understand Systems Engineering principles Understand Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Understand basic engineering principles Willingness and ability to travel Demonstrated Self-Starter Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others Excellent organizational, planning, and follow-up skills Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite Prior active duty Navy with a minimum of 10 years experience involving the Trident II program in lieu of engineering degree


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills


Have an active DoD security clearance within the two previous years Systems Engineering Degree Experience working with modeling tools Understand detailed engineering principles and experience with Interface Control/Design Drawings

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Stationary Energy Storage (ESS) Team. You will develop concepts and CAD designs for ESS high voltage components as well as other components, starting from a clean slate. You must have solid CAD skills along with a good understanding of electrical theory. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
The Role:Take ownership of components of the Lucid ESS, completing every aspect of engineering development from concept to production Apply first-principle engineering to new applications Build solid models of components that may include busbars, electrical connectors, plastics, thermal management components, environmental seals, etc Define testing to validate the components Work with Lucid's manufacturing team as well as outside suppliers to bring the product to market
Qualifications:A flair for creative design engineering and problem-solving Demonstrate competency in at least one professional 3D CAD package Demonstrate competency in design with various materials including plastics and metals Demonstrate competency in GD&T standards Firm understanding of electrical theory Past projects that demonstrate these core competencies Ability to own the project and work with little direction
Preferred:CATIA v6 experience Knowledge of lithium ion batteries Printed circuit board design experience a bonus

We are seeking a Product Development Engineer with Mechanical experience to join our team at Navistar! In this role, you'll work in the Product Development group at the manufacturing facility and provide direct line production support for the vehicle's chassis and/or body systems including EV chassis. You'll troubleshoot issues on the assembly line, document noted issues and develop containment recommendations.
Responsibilities


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Developing solutions to complex problems while maintaining the integrity of the product. Identify, troubleshoot, contain, and permanently correct engineering issues in the assembly plant. Develop electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from operators. Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests. Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed. Coordinate testing of design for durability and compliance to Federal, State and local requirements Work directly with Manufacturing, Materials, Quality, Purchasing and other Product Development Engineering groups. Support Manufacturing and plant goals of safety, quality and cost.


Minimum Requirements



Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology

OR

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment
