3rd Shift - Sunday-Thursday - 10:00pm - 6:00AM

Job Description:

Siemens Large Drives is New Kensington, PA, is looking for an Assembly Technician. In this role and under close supervision, you will complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies using hand tools, and electronic and pneumatic tooling. Reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

The Electro-Mechanical Technician Level I (Assembly Technician) will be responsible to wire and assemble drives, sub-assemblies, and various components in accordance with engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and bills of material utilizing hand and power tools in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Through component assembly - fit, align, drill, cut, and/or grind materials (i.e., metal, plastic).

Lift and position products to precise location using overhead crane and other material handling devices (i.e., power jack, fork truck). Move/position product as required.

Maintain safe, clean, and orderly work area by utilizing 5S practices and follow prescribed safety regulations.

Adhere to all safety policies and utilize all PPE.

Review and follow all ISO workmanship procedures

Work with Quality Assurance to meet internal and external customer expectations.

Identify discrepancies and questionable conditions related to task and communicate to appropriate personnel.

Actively participates in Lean continual improvement initiatives.

Assist less experienced associates.

Work overtime as required.

May be required to perform other duties as requested, advised, or assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Proficient use of basic hand and power tools required.

Ability to perform responsibilities from engineering drawings, wiring schematics and bills of materials.

Ability to climb to different heights and work at heights above waist level.

Occasional heavy lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.

Good written and oral communication skills required.

Basic math and problem-solving skills required.

Strong mechanical aptitude.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Experience in a production environment

Minimum of one-year mechanical, electrical or related experience preferred.

Basic digital literacy preferred.

Associate degree in electrical or electronics preferred

Job Description
Weatherford is hiring a Electro-Mechanical Technician V for our West Hardy Road facility. This is a hands-on, rewarding role where you will be performing mechanical assembly or electronic assembly work on complex assemblies for the oil and gas industry. The Electro-Mechanical Technician V will be working within a supportive, inclusive team in a fast-paced, progressive environment. Performs some supervisory and coordination activities. Also, performs mechanical assembly or electronic assembly work on complex assemblies. Performs testing of assemblies.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (Not listed in any particular order)
Coordinates with Supervisor and assigns work and provides leadership and guidance to team members. Follows work process: work orders, production drawings, sample assemblies or verbal instructions. Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in appropriate holding device. Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, solders, cements, press fits or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place. Mounts, installs, attaches or performs similar operations with components or subassemblies into assemblies. Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals and contact points. Performs assembly tasks such as sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching and color serializing parts and assemblies. Team Lead Experience: Point of contact for all team members, communicating skills, delegating tasks, lead by example, problem solving, allocating and managing resources. Adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics. Performs on-line tests as per released testing procedures and visual inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards. Performs pressure testing of completed assemblies where required. Provides feedback to Engineering to contribute to the continuous improvement of manufactured equipment. Completes other duties as assigned that are within the physical constraints of the job. Continuous training (EEP and training matrix) Compliance with ISO 9000/2000 system. Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level. Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job. Understand and comply with all safety and environmental requirements and company policies of Weatherford. Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and company with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.

+ Perform Preventative and Corrective Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of complex systems to include High Pressure piping and components, hydraulic and water pumps, propulsion systems, hydraulic and pneumatic actuators and air valves, diesel engines and gear and chain driven transmission systems.

+ Analyze, plan and provide oversight on mechanical equipment troubleshooting, repair, analysis and calibration. This includes developing and writing maintenance procedures, researching drawings, blueprints and technical shipyard references.

+ Supervise and perform mechanical configuration changes on submarine models, to include sonar domes, appendages and propulsor modifications. Experience in application and removal techniques for propulsor and hull treatments. Strong knowledge of painting applications with a variety of different coatings.

+ Knowledge and experience on Quality Assurance program to include a thorough understanding of re-entry control procedures, quality assurance standards, and configuration control of systems and components associated with a Quality Assurance program.

+ Experience in performing the planning, assembly and installation of rigging gear used for handling and positioning various components and fixtures. Knowledgeable on rigging materials and techniques. Experience in operations of Category 1,2,3 and/or 4 Cranes.

Qualifications:

Associates degree or equivalent experience.

5+ years of experience.
