What you can expect:

THE JOB
As an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician, you're part of a team that thrives on the front lines of emergency veterinary care where every second counts. You'll handle a wide range of cases, from minor to complex emergencies, collaborating with our doctors and team in delivering gold standard, emotionally intelligent care. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program strongly preferred

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Support of pharmacy services by assembling and dispensing medications in an efficient, accurate and patient-centered manner
* Process prescriptions via paper and electronic prescription formats
* Adjudication of prescriptions through insurance while being conscious of out-of-pocket costs and exploring ways to provide patients with medications at the lowest possible cost
* Respond to requests from providers and patients via phone, computer and face-to-face interactions
* Assisting in the maintenance of records in accordance with company policy and state/federal law
* Inventory management which includes, but not limited to, annual controlled substance inventory and daily maintenance of in-stock medications and supplies
* Non-sterile compounding
* Attention to detail, analytical skills, admirable customer service and dependability is a must

Job Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Must be 18 years of age or older
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Registration (Trainee or Registered/Certified) with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy required
* National certification from an accredited pharmacy technician certification program (PTCB, ExCPT, etc.) preferred at hire.
* Knowledge of the 340B program preferred
* Previous experience in a retail pharmacy preferred
* Prefer experience with Allscripts and PioneerRx software system
* Understanding of laws and regulations impacting the medication dispensing process preferred
* Prefer an understanding of third-party payer benefits, the requirements and troubleshooting rejected claims
* Ability to accurately enter data, preferably typing at a minimum of 45 wpm
* Ability to accurately input prescriptions and/or other information as dictated by the pharmacist
* Has the ability to diffuse and handle difficult situations by using good judgment, control of emotion and diplomacy
* Demonstrates grammatically-correct verbal and written communication skills
* Demonstrates efficient and courteous telephone skills

Facility Environment:
Heart of Ohio Family Health operates in multiple locations, in Columbus, OH. All facilities have a medical office environment with front-desk reception area, separate patient examination rooms, nursing stations, pharmacy stock room, business offices, hallways and private toilet facilities.
This position's primary work area is within the pharmacy on the second floor (elevator access on site).
The pharmacy area:

* sanitized daily
* maintains standard pharmacy environment with minimal opportunities to sit, long hours standing
* maintains standard office equipment; i.e., computer, copier, fax machine, etc. at a normal working height

About the Role:
We are looking for an energetic and dependable sterile compounding Technician who will serve as a group leader of sterile compounding technicians and/or sterile support staff during daily compounding operations. You will serve as a sterile trainer and evaluator of competency for sterile compounding staff. As a group leader and recognized trainer/evaluator, you will assist Supervising Pharmacists ensure compliance with USP 797, 800 (and other applicable chapters) and to compound sterile medications that are safe and effective for patients, under Pharmacist supervision.
Shift: 6:00am-6:00pm, rotating 3-2-2-3 schedule
You Will:
* Lead a team of sterile compounding technicians and/or sterile support staff in performing sterile compounding activities in compliance with USP 797 and 800 and site SOPs.
* You will help to ensure team members follow safety and environment monitoring and control procedures as outlined in the Site SOPs and that appropriate PPE is worn while executing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
* You will serve as an Assigned Trainer and competency evaluator for new hire and ongoing sterile compounding and support staff in USP 797 and 800 required core skills, knowledge, and required competencies such as Garbing and Hand Hygiene, Aseptic Technique, and cleanroom suite cleaning assessments.
* Compound sterile medications.
* Assist with compounding equipment calibration and ensure appropriate use of equipment during daily sterile compounding operations.
* Perform the formulation of the solutions and aseptic filling of the solutions
* Perform daily, weekly and monthly cleanroom suite support responsibilities including, but not limited to, compounding materials and supplies preparation, equipment calibration, cleaning, dishwashing, and sterilization or depyrogenation of equipment, according to facility SOP's.
* Document compounding-related and daily, weekly, and monthly activities according to facility SOPs and as required by USP 797 and 800.
* Coordinate with the Pharmacist-in-charge (PIC), Sterile Compounding Manager, Pharmacist, and/or Lead Sterile Compounding Pharmacist for personnel, quality, compliance and regulatory matters.
* Communicate with Lead Sterile Compounding Pharmacists or Sterile Compounding Pharmacists to report on issues in the cleanroom suite.
* Utilizes equipment as instructed by the pharmacist.
* Completes training as required by USP 797 and 800 (and related chapters).
You Have:
* 2+ years sterile compounding experience or 1+ year sterile compounding plus 1+ year nonsterile compounding experience.
* Current registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician in the State of Ohio and National Certification (CPhT)
* Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) or willingness to complete in the first year of employment.
* Strong communication skills and can work independently.
* Full time role 40 hours per week.
Preferred:
* 3+ year sterile compounding experience in nonsterile to sterile compounding or 1+ year in sterile-to-sterile compounding.
* Prior experience at a sterile pharmaceutical manufacturer.
* 1+ year experience in leadership role.
* 1+ year as a sterile or nonsterile trainer.

* This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs. These items would include gloves, respiratory protection, gown and other items as required.

Responsibilities

Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Tech I, Nuclear Pharmacy is to assist the pharmacist and Tech II in pharmacy operations and customer interactions, including answering questions and relaying information to physicians and pharmacists. As a trainee, the Tech I, Nuclear Pharmacy is involved in learning all basic aspects of facility and equipment preparation, including cleaning, inventory management and how to perform and record all tasks as mandated by law. As part of operating in a nuclear pharmacy, this job assists in performing quality checks, functional testing, and participating in the dispensing process.
