In 1958, the European Union of Medical Specialties (UEMS) was formed.
Traveler’s Medical Service, one of the first dedicated travel medicine practices in the United States, was founded in 1979 by Martin S. Wolfe, MD, an internationally recognized tropical medicine expert and the director of The Parasitology Laboratory of Washington.
