This position is responsible for capturing experiences at camp through both photography and videography. This position will work closely with the Communications Manager and Camp Namanu Registrar to share content with families and the community through Flickr album creation, emails blasts, social media and other marketing materials as needed. Each role provides hands-on experience supporting Oregons Federally Qualified Health Centers through meaningful projects that build professional skills and contribute to OPCAs mission. We are seekingcandidates with excellent research, writing, and communication skills. Applicants are encouraged to review both tracks carefully and indicate in their cover letter which internship they wish to be considered for.
Students who are completing their degrees in Oregon are encouraged to apply.
Communications Internship
The CommunicationsInternelevates the work of our health centers and staff through various communication strategies to further health center visibility. The intern will work alongside the Communicationsteam toimplementeffective strategies to achieve OPCAs strategicgoals.
This is a voluntary internshiptoassistwithresearch,graphic design,andadministrative tasks to support the promotion of programs and servicesof OPCAs or its members.
CommunicationsInternshipResponsibilities:
Designs visualsfor various platforms, including social media,slideshows, etc.
Tracksengagementand performance metricsonidentifiedplatformsincludingsocial media channels,blog,etc.
Provides administrative support forthe Communicationsteamtomaintaincommunicationprocesses(e.g. internal organization communications, etc.).
Collaborates with Communications & Engagement Managertoexecutetargeted marketing campaignsto maximize attendance andengagementof CHC members.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working skills in Canva or similar creative suites.
Familiarity with MicrosoftSuite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Familiarity with photo, design,websiteand online publishing applications and programsor ability to learn these programs.
Comfortable using social media accounts such as Facebook and X.
Other Notes:
This position is hybrid (special accommodations may be made on a case-by-case basis). The Oregon Primary Care Associations office is in downtown Portland.
The intern(s) will also have opportunities to collaborate with other members of the team depending on their selected project.

You will play a critical role on our team using your storytelling to connect people with how Fora Health provides immediate, necessary treatment and sowing the seeds for long-term health in our community. To be successful in this role, we are looking for a candidate with initiative, exceptional written skills, compassion for people who are seeking drug and alcohol treatment, and a unique ability to understand your audience and create content that unites and inspires.
This position works closely with many staff members, including the Senior Development Manager and CEO, and requires acute attention to detail.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Development & fundraising (50%)
Create compelling and engaging content that connects donors to the mission and solicits engagement (volunteering, donations, etc)
Organize and execute donor programs - Direct Mail, Email Communication, Pledge reminders, Monthly Giving programs, Annual Giving Appeals and more
Maintain donor records in the database and improve database procedures as needed.
Execute data queries for prospecting and soliciting donors
Reconcile monthly giving with the finance team
Conduct interviews with patients and graduates
Supports special events - including but not limited to managing registration and guest list, coordinating communication with partners and sponsors and executing day of tasks
Marketing (50%)
Knowledgeable about the behavioral health industry as well as Fora Health and our organization
Create and schedule content for social channels, including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Ensure consistency of brand throughout all communications.
Collaborate with directors to ensure internal updates and news are shared with staff in a timely way. Support the flow of communication.
Support SharePoint site and website maintenance.
Generate content that adheres to brand standards and company voice to engage with media, social media followers and key stakeholders, including staff, senior leadership, board members, donors, and partners/providers, government officials, and others as identified.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in marketing, non-profit management or related field and 5 years of experience in marketing or development. (OR equivalent combination of education and experience.)
