Job Details Kettering Health Washington Township | Centerville | Part-Time | 12 Hour Shift Nights Responsibilities & Requirements Responsibilities * The Health Unit Coordinator/Nursing Assistant (HUC NA) has a dual focus, a combination of the Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) and Nursing Assistant (NA) roles. They serve as a member of the interdisciplinary patient care team.
* The HUC NA supports patients with activities of daily living and performs patient care skills as delegated by the licensed nurse within the Ohio Board of Nursing Scope of Practice.
* The HUC NA also collaborates with unit leadership in coordinating the day-to-day activities of the patient care unit. This includes the processing of patient records and ongoing communication with nursing staff, physicians, and interdepartmental personnel. The HUC NA serves as a resource for physicians and other members of the health care team for the electronic medical record.
* The HUC NA is responsible for maintaining and demonstrating knowledge, skill, and ability of the delegated tasks. The HUC NA also supports department operational needs, and performs other duties as assigned.
* The HUC NA reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
Qualifications

* Certification in CPR/BLS
* Must have one of the following:
* Six months experience as a nursing assistant in a hospital or a long-term care facility

What you will be doing as a MedSpeed Medical Driver:
Most of your day will be spent in a company-owned vehicle, safely driving and transporting lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail and related materials

The City of Hudson is seeking regular part-time Paramedics to work on a combination department comprised of full-time, part-time and volunteer personnel providing comprehensive ALS EMS service. The position involves working 24-28 hours per week (more or less based on scheduling needs) with regular schedules available. Holiday, evening and weekend hours will be required. New employees will be subject to a probationary period of a minimum of one (1) year. This position accrues OPERS retirement and vacation time.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited high school or GED, current Ohio paramedic certification (National Registry preferred), and some EMS experience as a paramedic (preferably in a volunteer and/or combination Fire and/or EMS Department); or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. BLS and ACLS required. PALS or PEPP preferred. Possession of a valid State of Ohio driver's license with less than 6 points required. Candidate must be able to successfully complete a background investigation and pre-employment physical examination to include drug screening.
Job Description
This is technical work in providing advanced life support emergency medical services care for a municipal emergency medical service department. Work involves responsibility for providing clinical care at the paramedic level on an ambulance, including functioning as crew leader for the assigned crew on the ambulance. Responsible for the performance of the crew at all times during assigned shifts. Work is performed under actual and/or administrative direction of the Fire/EMS Chief, Assistant EMS Chief, EMS Captains, EMS Lieutenants and the Medical Director and is reviewed through direct observation, reports and evaluation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responds to medical emergencies and performs basic and advanced life support functions.
Responsible for the checking of vehicle, equipment, and supplies at the start of each shift. Replaces used supplies and checks equipment after transport.
Direct patient care. Performs emergency medical services on persons injured or ill according to National, State, and Departmental guidelines.
Function as a paramedic. Transports patients to emergency medical facilities, reports observations and actions to emergency medical staff, and may provide additional emergency treatment.
Responsible at times for providing extensive pre-hospital care such as administering drugs orally and intravenously, assisting with endotracheal intubation, interpreting electrocardiograms and using monitors and other complex equipment.
Provide guidance and supervision of other crew members as needed and may serve as a lead to less experienced employees.
Assure that all department policies/procedures are followed by each crew member, and report deficiencies to supervision.
Assure that all protocols for patient care are followed. Document patient's care according to specific policies. Demonstrate awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Sign for controlled substances and ensure adherence to policies/procedures for such.
Oversee the complete documentation of all paperwork such as patient care reports, supply requests, incident reports, etc. Performs routine inspections of personal safety equipment to ensure equipment is in optimum condition and promptly notifies supervisors of deficiencies.
Responsible for maintaining vehicle, equipment, and quarters in a clean operating manner. Decontaminates the interior of emergency vehicle, as appropriate per standards.
Ensure that the actions of all crewmembers are always professional and courteous.
Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, employees, crewmembers, other allied health providers and the general public.
Must maintain good standing and unrestricted practice authorization from the Medical Director.
Must have regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
Must follow and comply with City rules and policies.
Must obtain City of Hudson required Active Shooter Operations Level certification within 1 year from date of hire and maintain the certification throughout employment as a paramedic with the City of Hudson.
May perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands and Working Environment

Work is frequently performed indoors at the city safety center or at other office locations, and frequently outdoors in the field at emergency response locations. Work requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 125 pounds, reaching with hands and arms in front of body and overhead, using hands and fingers to operate EMS vehicles, equipment, radios and computers. Work requires sufficient strength and agility to react quickly and effectively in emergency situations. Work occasionally exposes employee to body fluids, fumes, airborne particles, loud noise, toxic and caustic chemicals, extreme weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock.
Minimum Qualifications
Work requires possession of a high school diploma or GED and some EMS experience as a Paramedic (preferably in a volunteer and/or combination Fire and/or EMS Department); or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:
Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and techniques of advanced life support EMS patient care.
Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, regulations, statutes and ordinances applicable to emergency medical services as pertaining to paramedic care.
Skill in the operation and use of a computer and EMS software programs, and the preparation of automated records.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with superiors, crew members, and other allied health providers.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Completion of an Approved Paramedic Training Program and obtained a valid Ohio Paramedic certification.
· Maintain current BLS certification.
· Maintain current ACLS certification.
· Maintain current PALS certification. PALS certification must be obtained within six months of hire
· Complete an emergency vehicle operation course within 6 months of hire.
· Must maintain continuing education for proper certification.

What You Will DoPractices critical clinical decision-making and delivers care to patients at the top level of the Paramedic's scope of practice in a team-based care delivery model with the mission to provide initial and/or continuing care to stabilize patients in any environment (residence, clinic, ED, hospital) and as required, provide or facilitate transport via ambulance.
Provides care and transport to adult and pediatric patients at all acuity levels within the paramedic scope of practice including but not limited to STEMI, stroke, trauma, emerging or re-emerging infectious diseases, and high-risk OB patients.
Completes appropriate charting and clinical documentation in a team-based approach.
Displays a commitment to the EMS-I Team and UH System's mission, vision, and values.
Advocates unwavering for patient and crew safety.

The City of Macedonia is accepting applications for the position of part-time Firefighter/Paramedic. Candidates must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License, State of Ohio Firefighter Certifications I and II, State of Ohio EMT-Paramedic Certification or currently enrolled in an accredited Paramedic Program and in good standing and posses a current Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) physical agility test with a passing time of four (4) minutes and thirty (30) seconds or less.
