Overview
We are seeking a Russian-Speaking Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our clinical care navigator team. The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for day-to-day front and back-office activities. Such activities include regular correspondence between our staffed physicians, our Russian-speaking patient population, and our care navigation team. Our CMAs provide remote patient care by monitoring vitals and keeping regular contact with their patients on a weekly basis. They assist the physician in conducting telehealth appointments, translating for Russian-speaking patients, and documenting outcomes to ensure patient success. Additionally, they collaborate with our Care Navigators to perform new patient intakes, home assessments, and schedule patient device deployment and installations. Overview

Hyndman Area Health Center a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is seeking a Full-time Certified Medical Assistant to provide clinical support to healthcare providers in a busy medical facility.
Summary: The Certified Medical Assistant's main responsibility is to maintain efficient patient flow and support medical providers with delivery of patient care. They will assist in other various tasks to ensure our clinical operations run effectively and in a timely manner. Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities: · Immediately triages seriously ill patients and notifies nursing and/or provider staff.· Maintains a smooth flow of patients into exam rooms as a top priority.· Obtains accurate vital signs· Obtains accurate and appropriate medical history for medical patient's chart. · Accurately updates all flow charts, including medication flow chart, per visit.· Cooperatively assists medical providers with procedures (as trained by provider).· Restocks supplies in exam rooms· Keeps exam rooms clean and presentable for patient care. Ensures surgical instruments are sterilized and restocked and pelvic trays are restocked.· Disinfects/cleans exam rooms (all surfaces) after each patient visit.· Documents follow-through with appropriate personnel and patient/chart in progress notes written documentation of follow-through - top priority.· Answers telephone and triages all incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls in a professional and respectful manner.· Communicates with billing department regarding any progress or problems.· Uses appropriate medical record documentation guidelines and techniques at all times. · Drawing labs and administers vaccines General Duties: · Maintains confidentiality of all health center related information within the bounds of patient and professional confidentiality.· Consistently demonstrates job knowledge and skills to perform all job responsibilities effectively and professionally.· Identifies problems, makes recommendations and assists in developing solutions to resolve concerns with co-workers and supervisor professionally and constructively.· Strives to improve operations, co-worker and teamwork within the department and with all other departments, Board and administration of the health center.· Encourages the mission and goals of the health center at all times. Qualifications: · Graduate of an approved medical assistant training program or equivalent program· Minimum of two years' experience in a health care setting preferred · Certification in Medical Assisting required· CPR/AED Certification Compensation: $16.00 per hour

How you'll contribute
A Medical Office Assistant who excels in this role:
Greets patients, families and patrons as they arrive to the clinic.
Obtains and verifies all insurance, demographic and financial information with each registration.
Updates the information as needed.
Obtains copies of insurance cards for the EMR.
Monitors for and obtains referrals for patients.
Instructs patients of requirement of referral prior to being seen on their appointment date.
Obtains and prepares all patient charts for the physician practice.
Assists in maintaining patient flow during the patient's visit.
Schedules appointments via computerized system for physician practices.
Accepts patient payments for bills, copays, etc. and documents accordingly with receipt given to the patient.
Schedules surgeries, testing, and hospitalizations, works with insurance companies in pre-certification process, and obtains authorizations for
diagnostic tests and referrals.
Posts payment in EPIC accordingly, prepares audit journal and balances daily receipts.
Prepares daily deposits accordingly.
Provides patient care to infants through geriatric patients under the supervision of Physician(s) and Advanced Practitioner(s).
Escorts patients to exam rooms, prepares patients for exam.
Discharges patients from clinic with their instructions after being seen by a physician or APP.
Assists physician and APP with exam and procedures, as requested.
Assists in patient care pre and post procedure and/or clinic visit.
Attends assigned and/or scheduled in-service education meetings and staff meetings.
Promotes an environment that is conducive to employee and patient safety.
Must be flexible with workload, schedule and location to meet department volume demands.
Maintains confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Maintenance of office equipment in good operational order.
Receive and process messages from providers/clinical staff through In- Basket and patients through My Chart system in EPIC and the
telephone.
