Return all patient phone calls promptly. Same day call-backs are preferred. All calls must be returned within 72 hours. Urgent calls should immediately be brought to the provider's attention.
Document critical lab values/test results when received via telephone and immediately bring results and chart to provider.
All PT/INR results should be brought with chart to the provider on the day in which results are received.
Sample meds to be checked weekly for expiration dates and log completed.
Complete all documentation related to childhood vaccinations - Vaccination record IRIS forms, parental consent/refusal forms. Log all injection lot #, expiration date, site.
Heritage Health staff have an active role in our Patient Centered Medical Home model of care. This role is designated as part of the Heritage Health PCMH Care Team.

How you will contribute:
* You will greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
* You will perform venipuncture of donors and programming of plasmapheresis machine.
* You will monitor donors during the donation process and manage donor reactions.
* You will perform all tasks required for the setup, verification, operation, and troubleshooting of plasmapheresis equipment within scope of training.

The starting hourly wage reflects the actual starting rate for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives. Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our Organization. The Medical Assistant will perform all general MA duties (room patients, record vital signs, enter/update medications, verify allergies and list reaction, etc.). Our Medical Assistants work alongside our Providers and RN's to assist with procedures and keep accurate records in EHR.
NWOS is closed all weekends and major holidays. No night shifts or on-call.
Essential Functions:
Educate pre/post-operative patients per Provider's instructions.
Draws and prepares injections, labels as indicated and records in EHR.
Assist all Providers with procedures such as casting/splints and removal of sutures/staples.
Opens and preps exam rooms, stocks as indicated. Cleans exam rooms and autoclaves instruments between patients.
Completes medical history and updates surgical information accurately on all post-operative patients.
Preps charts the day before or morning of surgery, including, but not limited to: gathering ER notes, op-notes, office notes from other providers, review present chart to asses types of documents needed for the day, what x-rays are indicated, and read the provider's previous notes for directions.
Performs sterile dressing changes.
Refills medications per provider protocols. Direct questions to the specific provider.
Orders tests - X-rays, CT, US, MRI, lab draws per provider's request.
Prepare patients for surgical procedures
Perform Point of Care testing
EKG
Stock supplies in patient care areas
Assist with transport, ambulation and discharge coordination
QUALIFICATIONS:

Clinics are open Monday through Friday-- that means no holiday or weekend shifts!
Job Responsibilities
Scheduling & Communication: Professionally answer the phone and emails following PMR policy to schedule patients, follow-up on specialist appointments, or refer inquiries.
Patient Preparation: Welcome patients, check them in/out of appointments, and complete patient intake
Support Patient Care: Help the providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; prepare fit test, disposing of contaminated supplies; administering and dispensing medications on the premises; authorizing drug refills as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies; drawing blood; taking electrocardiograms; performing Spirometry, EKG, Visual Acuity, removing sutures; changing dressings.
Clinic Preparation: Maintain a safe, clean work environment; refreshing and preparing exam rooms between visits and following procedures for inventory control.
Documentation: Complete documentation specified by PMR with the EMR.
Update Professional Knowledge: Maintain all required certification(s).
Hiring Requirements
