Collect body fluid samples for patients being admitted to treatment. The Medical Supply Technician is responsible for performing a full range of sterilization, decontamination, and distribution of reusable medical equipment and supplies. Duties & Responsibilities: Decontamination & Sterilization: Receive and inspect contaminated instruments from various medical units (OR, dental, endoscopy, clinics, etc.). Disassemble, clean, and disinfect instruments using ultrasonic cleaners, washers, and decontamination agents. Monitor sterilization equipment, such as steam autoclaves, hydrogen peroxide gas plasma units, and high-level disinfecting reprocessors. Ensure all items meet manufacturer's instructions for use (IFU) and VA standards. Assembly & Quality Assurance: Assemble and package surgical trays, medical instruments, and endoscopic devices. Perform functionality checks and quality control testing (e.g., leak tests, biological monitoring). Verify sterility indicators and maintain accurate sterilization records.
