What You'll Do:
Obtain patient medical history including chief complaint, history of present illness, past ocular and general history, family ocular and general history, and history of allergy and medications.
Conduct pre-testing and specialized tests for exams.
Educate patients on the insertion and removal of contact lenses.
Provide patients with proper lens wear and eye care information.
Assist patients with contact lens orders by explaining their benefits and providing cost comparison information.
Process contact lens orders including placing order, verification, preparation, dispensing, following up on late and/or back ordered lenses, and assisting patients with questions regarding their orders.
Resolve patient issues by obtaining and evaluating all relevant information, seek assistance from and coordinate with other Simon Eye departments when needed.
Communicate with providers and staff throughout daily events.
What You'll Need:
At least 2 years of experience providing exceptional customer service, preferably in a fast-paced medical environment
MedicalAssistant degree preferred
High level of professionalism and self-motivation
Ability to multi-task; to work quickly and accurately while maintaining a positive patient experience
Proficiency in using computer databases including typing accuracy
Ability to work at least one evening per week and two Saturdays per month to meet patient needs

MedicalAssistant Under general direction, the MedicalAssistant provides direct patient care to patients of Choice Pain & Rehabilitation Center, LLC. This position is responsible for abiding by HIPPA rules and regulations and assisting patients with medical forms in addition to the below noted essential duties. Candidate must have experience with EMR systems, requesting medical records, utilizing the Pharmacy Database Monitoring Program as directed by providers, recording vital signs and medical history, collecting patient information, facilitating patient flow, and complies with measures to assure that patient/customer satisfaction results are consistently maintained.
MedicalAssistant Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accurately ensuring patient medical records are complete.
Prepares all forms and requisitions as instructed by the provider.
Takes and records patient vitals.
Properly maintains examination rooms and other clinical areas, including supply inventory and maintenance.
Maintains certifications and skills.
Adheres to Infection Control, Safety and OSHA standards as specified by State, and Company standards.
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with established State, Company and any other applicable policies and procedures.
Instructs patients in simple procedures/tests and dispenses appropriate educational materials.
Draws up injections to be administered.
Verifies that radiological and laboratory records are received and in the patient chart. If radiological and/or laboratory records are not in the chart, take necessary steps to obtain the records.
Fits patients for durable medical equipment (DME) and completes all applicable paperwork.
Obtains prior authorizations for prescriptions and/or DME, as needed.
Sterilizes and cleans instruments used in examinations and/or procedures; maintains clean and hygienic environment.
Monitors personal and provider staff task buckets in the EMR.
Under the direction of the physician, assists with providing Workers Compensation medication.
Labels specimens accurately and distributes them to the appropriate personnel to ensure specimen integrity.
Processes specimens and prepares them for shipping.
Maintain lab area with ample supplies and in a clean and safe condition.
Follows test requirements of laboratory and procures unaltered urine specimen for testing.
Acts as a back-up for Ancillary MedicalAssistants, performing Ancillary MedicalAssistant duties, as directed.
Provides exceptional customer service to patients and their families both in person and over the phone.
Clerical and administrative duties, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma, or equivalent.
Must have knowledge of the internet and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including exceptional customer service.
Must work well under pressure, especially regarding patient health and emergency situations.
Must be able to multi-task and prioritize.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
One (1) year of prior experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Driving/Travel:
The employee must have reliable transportation, as work assignments may be needed at any of the company's locations.

Summary/Objective
Play a pivotal role in helping to prevent GI Cancer for patients! Our Open Access teams are dedicated to helping patients get scheduled for their procedures over the phone with our offices. Under the direction of the Open Access Supervisor, the Open Access Scheduler schedules new and established patients for procedures or office visits based off a medical intake screening they conduct.
Essential Functions
Conducts Open Access medical assessments with patients.
Reviews Open Access assessments with patients that they have filled out online and helps to get them scheduled.
Collects Insurance information, reviews demographics and schedules procedures or office visits.
Reviews procedure prep information with patients and answers questions they may have.
Competencies

Knowledge of medical terminology, medications, & ICD-10 codes.
