What You'll Do as a Medical Assistant with Our HEP-C Program:
• Support our medical providers and nurses while adhering to high professional conduct and ethical standards
• Interview clients, assist with medical exams, collect vital signs, document medications and allergies, perform EKGs, obtain blood draws, collect and process specimens, order supplies
• Coordinate physical and behavioral health needs for individuals with HCV and other health conditions.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients enrolled in the Rapid Hepatitis C Treatment Program
• Coordinate all aspects of the treatment plan, including scheduling appointments, labs, referrals and/or follow-ups. Track treatment milestones on a spreadsheet
• Communicate effectively with pharmacies and insurance companies to ensure timely medication delivery.
• Create and submit prior authorizations for medications when needed.
• Perform Rapid Fingerstick tests
• Collect drug screens and accurately record results
• Maintain accurate documentation and data entry in electronic health records.
Qualifications:
• REQUIRED: High School Diploma
• REQUIRED: Graduation From a Medical Assistant Program

Job Summary
We are seeking a part-time Medical Assistant for 24 hours per week. The work schedule will be Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Our practice is open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and the 8-hour shifts will be staggered within this timeframe.
In this role, you will collaborate with two other full-time Medical Assistants, three full-time providers, and one part-time provider. The pulmonary team is a smaller practice that fosters a supportive and collaborative environment.
The role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow. This role involves direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.

* Assists junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and responsibilities and helps facilitate their learning by participating in onboarding training.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 1-year of previous experience as a Caregiver or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the elderly in a residential or long-term care setting (experience may depend on state requirements)
Must be able to read, write and speak English to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and other staff members
Must be able to perform job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation
Must complete Medication Aide training (and certification in states where required)
Essential Functions:
Provides medication assistance for residents in accordance with state regulations and company policy including; pouring, preparing, assisting with administration, and documentation
Assists in maintaining the medication cart and storage room in a neat and orderly manner
Accepts responsibility for accurate medication counts and for the security of the medication cart and medication storage room for assigned shifts
May be called upon to assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility, as needed
Engages residents in meaningful conversation, socialization, and activity while providing personal care and medication assistance
Responds to all resident needs and/or requests for care promptly, and provides or obtains assistance with care as necessary
Upholds Residents' Rights at all times
Supports and upholds all company policies and care philosophy
Observes residents for changes in physical, emotional, mental, or behavioral condition, unusual symptoms, medication side effects, accidents, injuries, or unusual occurrences, and reports promptly to a licensed nurse
Completes all documentation such as medication administration records, incident reports, change of condition reports, and behavior tracking, as requested, and in a timely manner
Assists in the dining room during resident meal times as needed
Encourages residents to participate in scheduled activities and outings, and provides residents with opportunities for self-expression and enhanced self-esteem through spontaneous individual or small group interaction and activity
May be called upon to assist with Caregiver housekeeping responsibilities.

We will primarily work weekends, with some occasional weekdays in the State of DE on an "as needed basis".
We provide health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the following:
U.S. Army Reserve (USAR)
Army National Guard (ARNG)
U.S. Navy Reserve (USNR)
U.S. Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES)
U.S. Coast Guard Reserve (USCGR)
Air National Guard (ANG)
U.S. Air Force Reserve (USAFR)
Responsibilities:
Phlebotomy / Blood draw.
Immunizations.
EKG.
Manual vitals and vision.
Requirements:
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or Equivalent Training from Accredited Medical Assisting Training
Phlebotomy Certification - preferred
CPR/BLS Certification
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Minimum One (1) year of experience - preferred
