Responsibilities Hospital/Surgical Center Responsibilities May need to round in the hospital on rare occasions with inpatients May need to assist in hospital consults on rare occasions. Assists the surgeon with major and minor surgical procedures in the operating room. Positions, preps and drapes the patient, as needed. Closes surgical wounds and performs post-operative wound care Applies dressings, casts, splints, braces, etc. Performs minor surgical procedures within scope of licensure.
