RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare examination rooms prior to patient's arrival.
Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.

Obtain and document patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies and vital signs on the correct form.
Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered.

Charts in patient medical records as indicated.
May perform lab tests including urine dip-tests, acetone tests, hemocult tests, tests to determine PH., protein and PKU.
May perform hearing and vision tests, glaucoma tests and visual acuities.
Collects, by non-invasive techniques and preserves specimens for testing, including urine, sputum and stool.
Participates in Departmental Quality Assurance Activities.
Performs other duties as required, such as checking patients medical records for incomplete data, relaying messages to staff personnel.

The Role
Artemis is looking for a Research Assistant to assist coordinators in clinical research protocols. This individual will work directly with the coordinators, investigators, and other research staff to ensure protocol visits are being completed in accordance with protocol guidelines.

Responsibilities:
Provide services including administration of medications, as directed by the Physicians
Ensure safety and welfare of each research participant
Assist Site Manager to adequately supply routine medical supplies; reorder supplies through established purchasing procedures
Maintain an accurate inventory of medical supplies to ensure services are not compromised due to unforeseen shortages
Admit and discharge patients on unit
Check vital signs and record daily information in the participant's chart
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
Perform basic laboratory tests to include urine pregnancy test and urine drug tests
Perform lab draws
Perform ECGs
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation related to research participants
Prepare daily meals and perform light housekeeping duties
Provide status updates and communicate with Physicians and Clinical Research Coordinators related to research participants

Certified Medical Assistant in California
Current, valid California Phlebotomy License preferred
Minimum of one year of experience managing a lab, ordering, and inventory
