* Coordinates all aspects of surgery scheduling according to surgery scheduling protocols. This includes obtaining medical clearances, pre-certifications, consents, submitting orders and scheduling pre-assessment, preoperative and postoperative appointments.
* Reconciles patient health history information at visit, updates any additional information pertinent to patient care and scans various documentation into EMR. Such documentation includes hospital dictation, disability forms, laboratory test requests, medical clearances or any other correspondence as directed after obtaining provider signature.
* Triages patient correspondence received by phone, voicemail or patient portal in adherence to policy. Documents patient correspondence into EMR system and advises patient provider plan of action.
* Maintains exam rooms which may include the following: prepares exam rooms including stocking of appropriate supplies, instruments, and equipment for examination of patients daily. Cleans exam rooms according to protocol between patient examinations. Disposes any contaminated materials appropriately.
* Cleans and sterilizes medical instruments and equipment.
* Other duties may also be assigned by Providers, RNs, and managers.

Job Duties:Responsible for accurately obtaining blood samples via venipuncture and capillary collection procedures with minimum customer discomfort. Provides care to patients whose ages range from infant to geriatric. Ensures specimen integrity by adhering to the laboratory's procedures for specimen collection, handling, and processing. Adheres to departmental policies and procedures to include departmental programs, quality control, quality assurance, and safety.
Follows laboratory procedures for specimen collection and handling. Correctly identifies patients and properly labels specimens. Correctly identifies and utilizes proper tubes, containers, transport media, and storage temperature for each test type. Correctly identifies proper priority for the collection process. Follows appropriate guidelines as established by the laboratory for missed draws, recollects, or difficult sticks.In order to be considered for this position please reply with your resume + cover letter. NextCare Urgent Care is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic MedicalAssistant who has or is interested in obtaining their Non-Certified Technician certification that likes the challenge of a fast pace setting and working in a team environment. Responsibilities
The MedicalAssistant - NCT is responsible for performing patient care duties under the MedicalAssistant scope of practice in the urgent care setting as follows:
* Performs radiology duties within the scope of practice as stated in NextCare Policies and Procedures, as well as the state appropriate Radiation Rules and Regulations.
* Assists provider with exams (including patient vitals), procedures and other processes related to direct patient care under direct supervision of the Provider and within the scope of practice of a MedicalAssistant.
* Administers all forms of medications per policy and Provider direction and adheres to all safety protocols and procedures for medication administration.
* May be responsible for urine collection for various testing to include employer drug screens
* May perform splinting and casting
* Conduct various type physicals such as sports physicals
* Performs other related duties specific to urgent care such as wound care and oxygen administration.
* Notifies the provider on duty promptly of all unusual patient occurrences including medication events on an incident report.
* Promptly notifies the Clinic Manager of patient or employee safety concerns.
* Follows guidelines and requirements of laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.
* Must be proficient in EMR/EHR
* Performs other related duties as assigned or described by Company policy.
How you will make an impact
The Radiology Technologist supports the organization with customer service and treating all of our patients with respect and dignity. They provide patient care services in the back office urgent care setting, which will meet the specific needs of the patient.
Essential Education, Experience and Skills:
Education: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; AND
* Completed an APPROVED (accredited) MedicalAssistant training program.
OR
* Completed an UNAPPROVED (non-accredited) MedicalAssistant training program AND a National Certification through one of the following:
* American Association of MedicalAssistants (AAMA) - administers the Certified MedicalAssistant (CMA) exam and certification; or
* American Medical Technologists (AMT) -- provides the Registered MedicalAssistant (RMA) exam and certification to individuals who have completed the AMT criteria; or
* National Healthcareer Association (NHA)-administers the Certified Clinical MedicalAssistant (CCMA) exam and certification
OR
* Completed an UNAPPROVED medicalassistant training program AND was employed as a medicalassistant for one (1) year or more after program completion OR must have VERIFIABLE work experience directly supervised by Provider or Physician Group for a minimum of 2000 hours or 1 year.
Other MA education or experience may be considered upon review and approval from Compliance and Regulatory department
Licensure for NCT: Must have an active and current NCT license issued by the TexasMedical Board
Certification: Current healthcare professional level CPR certification issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, American Safety Health Institute or National Safety
