Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent or combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities. While Medical Assistants are not certified, registered, or licensed in the State of California, the Medical Board of California requires that medical assistants complete specific types and hours of training to perform the duties outlined in their scope of practice. This training must be documented and a physician or other qualified teacher, as identified by the Medical Board of California, must certify in writing that the Medical Assistant has completed the training successfully. CSU-specific requirements are as follows:
* Most common, incumbents are required to possess a certificate of completion from an accredited and approved medical assisting program through the Department of Education or Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education within the Department of Consumer Affairs. In this case, the supervising CSU physician must verify competencies.
OR
* At the discretion of the student health center director, an in-house campus-training program may be developed according to the guidelines established by the Medical Board of California. In this case, a CSU physician must document and certify in writing that the formal training and clinical practice hours required by the Medical Board of California to perform the duties of a Medical Assistant have been completed successfully.
NOTE: If a Medical Assistant is performing phlebotomy outside the regular scope of practice, appropriate phlebotomy certification may be required by the State of California.

The primary responsibility of the Back Office Lead is to manage clinical support operations in the delivery of an exceptional overall patient care experience. The Back Office Lead is expected to maintain a high degree of organizational acumen, attentiveness and professionalism.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Be proficient in essential Back Office functions and basic Front Office operations.
2. Assists in the training and development of support staff.
3. Assist Providers navigate the EHR/EMR features and functions.
4. Ensure optimal patient workflow and minimal wait times.
5. Maintain medical equipment to include x-ray unit.
6. Managed medical supply inventories to support day to day operations.
7. Ensure Monthly QA of Lab, Radiology and control logs are up to date.
8. Assist with patient callbacks, follow-up and appointment reminder calls.
9. Perform patient complaint resolutions while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Requirements include:
Medical Assistant Certificate
Two (2) years of experience as a Medical Assistant
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Must be willing to work schedule: Tuesday-Thursday 2PM-8PM, Friday 8AM-2PM, & Saturday 8AM-6PM
Possess exceptional customer service skills

The Role
Artemis is looking for a Research Assistant to assist coordinators in clinical research protocols. This individual will work directly with the coordinators, investigators, and other research staff to ensure protocol visits are being completed in accordance with protocol guidelines.
Position Type: Full Time
Pay Range
: $23 - $27/hr
Location: San Diego-no remote work
Travel: 0%
Work Schedule: Monday & Thursday - 8:30am-5pm / Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 7:00am-3:30 pm
Responsibilities:
Provide services including administration of medications, as directed by the Physicians
Ensure safety and welfare of each research participant
Assist Site Manager to adequately supply routine medical supplies; reorder supplies through established purchasing procedures
Maintain an accurate inventory of medical supplies to ensure services are not compromised due to unforeseen shortages
Admit and discharge patients on unit
Check vital signs and record daily information in the participant's chart
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
Perform basic laboratory tests to include urine pregnancy test and urine drug tests
Perform lab draws
Perform ECGs
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation related to research participants
Prepare daily meals and perform light housekeeping duties
Provide status updates and communicate with Physicians and Clinical Research Coordinators related to research participants
Requirements:
Certified Medical Assistant in California
Current, valid California Phlebotomy License preferred
Minimum of one year of experience managing a lab, ordering, and inventory
Minimum 1 year experience in medical field or clinical research
Intermediate to advanced computer and phone skills
Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
