Responsibilities:

Assist Dr. Abby Dew during dental procedures, ensuring clients are comfortable and relaxed throughout their visit

Take and develop 2D and 3D dental radiographs (X-rays) and scans as directed by the dentist
Educate clients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions

Manage dental supplies as needed to ensure the seamless operation of the practice
Assist in scheduling appointments and managing client records using dental software
Ensure strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols in accordance with OSHA and state regulations
Qualifications:

Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification required
Minimum of 3 years of dental assisting experience in a clinical setting

Generates orders for prescriptions, diagnostic imaging, rehabilitation therapy, DME, etc. as directed by provider; inputs into EMR.
Schedules follow-up appointments, tests, test results, procedures, and injections with designated provider or facility.
Coordinates all aspects of surgery scheduling according to surgery scheduling protocols. This includes obtaining medical clearances, precertifications, consents, submitting orders and scheduling preassesment, preoperative and postoperative appointments.
Reconciles patient health history information at visit, updates any additional information pertinent to patient care and scans various documentation into EMR. Such documentation includes hospital dictation, disability forms, laboratory test requests, medical clearances or any other correspondence as directed after obtaining provider signature.
Triages patient correspondence received by phone, voicemail or patient portal in adherence to policy. Documents patient correspondence into EMR system and advises patient provider plan of action.
Maintains exam rooms which may include the following: prepares exam rooms including stocking of appropriate supplies, instruments, and equipment for examination of patients daily. Cleans exam rooms according to protocol between patient examinations. Disposes any contaminated materials appropriately.

Requirements
Assist the Periodontist during periodontal surgeries including soft tissue grafts, pocket reduction procedures, crown lengthening, osseous surgery, and dental implant placement.
Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and sterile fields in accordance with infection control protocols (OSHA/CDC).
Take and process high-quality digital radiographs and cone beam CT scans as needed.
Record patient vitals and assist with patient monitoring during surgical procedures.

Ensure operatory cleanliness, stocking, and organization to support a seamless clinical workflow.

What You'll Bring:
Minimum 5 years dental assisting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a surgical or periodontal setting.
Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) credentials.
Radiology and CPR/BLS certifications (required).
Strong knowledge of periodontal and implant procedures.
Proficient in dental imaging, impressions, and sterilization protocols.

Experience assisting with guided implant surgery or digital workflows.
