They train on equipment, positioning, and body mechanics. *What You Will Do: * * Support staff by preparing case carts that include all necessary surgery supplies, suture, and equipment based on surgeon's preference. * Clean and turnover operating rooms including all equipment, bed, floor, appliances, and overhead lights in the ORs or that were used on the particular cases. * Transport dirty case carts to decontamination area and sends to Sterile Processing on dirty elevator. Logs in specimens and places in appropriate area. * Transport supplies, specimens, x-rays, blood products, and beds. * Provide necessary articles for transport, including oxygen tanks, monitors, patient charts, documents, and supplies, and transport recovery beds or patient beds to appropriate rooms. Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required. * Experience working in housekeeping, central supply or surgery transportation preferred. * Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and supplies preferred. Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patients. Assists providers with patient exams and procedures as needed. Required Skills/Abilities: Compassionate and caring bedside manner. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Detail-oriented and organized. Manages conflict with good resolutions. Ability to multi-task and anticipate needs of providers. Proficient in EKG, venipuncture, and managing lab work and genetic testing a plus. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. CMA certificate or equivalent experience and willingness to earn CMA certification required. Three years of experience as a medical assistant or related role preferred. Medical oncology terminology strongly preferred. CPR/BLS certification, required upon hire.
