The Mobile clinic Registered Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting the dentist in the direct provision of dental services to patients of the Mobile Clinic. The RDA will register patients, check them in, accept payments, and work chairside with the dentist. The RDA will also prepare operatory, sterilize instruments, and monitor the inventory of supplies and instruments.
Responsibilities:
Review daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments in operatory for patient treatment.
Maintain a smooth constant flow of patients from reception to operatories.
Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after treatment.
Prepare patients for examination by obtaining their health history and taking their blood pressure and pulse.
Record patients' health history, vital signs and information in the Electronic Dental Record (EDR) system.
Operate x-ray equipment to perform dental radiographic procedures.
Perform mouth-mirror inspection of the oral cavity, to include charting of obvious lesions, existing restorations, and missing teeth.
Provide chair side assistance to the dentist as needed, in the concept of four handed dentistry.
Use suction and swabs to keep patients mouths clear and dry during procedures.
Accurately chart diagnosis of dentists.
Place and remove temporary sedative dressings.
Take impressions for diagnostic and opposing models.
Under direct supervision of the dentist, perform procedures such as fabrication of temporary crowns intra-orally; temporary cementation and removal of temporary crowns and removal of orthodontic bands; coronal polishing; and placement of post-extraction and periodontal dressings in accordance with state regulations and law.
Provide patients with instructions for oral care.
Maintain dental equipment and work areas in compliance with health center policies and procedures relative to infection control and safety issues, including the sterilization of all reusable dental instruments and equipment and the proper disposal of all contaminated or potentially contaminated materials.
Maintain adequate operatory supplies and compile a list for inventory control and ordering purposes.
IN Mobile assist patients with registration, check in and check out as needed. In clinic assist the front office, as needed, with answering the telephone, patient registration, scheduling appointments, recalls and obtaining insurance eligibility.
Travel to any location to provide support coverage.
Adjust responsibilities based on assigned provider and/or health center/department needs.
Accommodate schedule and/or location changes with minimal notice.
At times, may require to drive and operate mobile unit (40 ft., 26,000 lb. diesel fuel bus).
Required to float and/or travel between all TrueCare sites and locations, therefore; a California drivers license and clean California DMV Drivers Record is required.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate from a California Board-approved RDA education program.
Minimum one year experience working as a Registered Dental Assistant in a high volume dental practice.
Familiarity with dental terminology, instruments, materials and medications used during dental procedures.
Knowledge of professional and ethical standards of health care delivery.
Availability to work outside of normal shifts (e.g., 8am to 5pm) and on Saturdays.
Computer proficiency, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook and Word, and with electronic health record data entry.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.

The goal of this position is to be the personal data assistant to the Provider, and to assist with assuring that our patients are receiving high quality, comprehensive healthcare. This means you are responsible for transcribing patient visits with accurate and detailed information, communicating and collaborating with multiple members of the care team, and building your understanding of the healthcare delivery system. This role also interfaces with the quality/care management team to improve best practices. Medical Scribes are trained to be experts in structured clinical assessments, accurate and specific documentation and team based, patient-centered care.
We start simple: build meaningful relationships with patients and their families, then layer resources to help our teams provide excellent care. We emphasize the use of technology to improve care quality and make life easy for our providers. Please note that this is a full-time position, 40 hours per week.

Communicate with the care team including Medical Assistants, Referrals Coordinator, Case Management, and scheduling team on any follow up, procedures or orders that may be needed.
Maintain up-to-date information for the Provider(s) during every visit, if necessary.
Prepare for and provide patient education documents, as needed. These may be from the EHR library or could be company specific.
