Position Summary
The Certified MedicalAssistant is a key role in our practice. They create a strong first impression for our patients and ensure they feel cared for by our practice. Take and process digital radiographs, CBCT scans, and iTero scans (training available)
Monitor patient vitals and ensure comfort during sedation procedures
Educate patients on post-op instructions and long-term periodontal care
Maintain operatory readiness and manage surgical inventory
Provide an excellent chairside experience from consult to post-op recovery
What We're Looking For:
Minimum 1 year of surgical or periodontal assisting experience
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Completion of a certified dental assisting program (preferred)
Valid NYS radiology certification and CPR certification (required)
Professional, calm demeanor with a passion for patient care
Strong organizational and time-management skills in a busy clinical environment
Compensation & Benefits:
Pay Rate: $25-27/hour + monthly performance incentives

Responsibilities:
Acquaint yourself with all new and established patients, providing plan/setting expectations for visit and guide patients to examination rooms
Assist the physician with documentation of the patients' medical record
Accompanies the physician into the exam room to transcribe the history of the examination as given by the patient and the physician
Under the direction of the physician, transcribes the impression and plan, results of tests, prescriptions, and orders
Documents and aids in any procedural set that may be performed by the physician
Document all history and testing information accurately and consistently
Summarize all exam details from physician into patients' electronic chart, including but not limited to: proper charting of examination, additions to chief complaint, physician assessment and recommendations for treatment
Other duties as assigned or directed by your supervisor
Required Qualifications:
Experience as a Medical Scribe is required. Ophthalmology and retina experience preferred.
You should be able to communicate professionally, be comfortable working in a medical environment, be highly organized, have a strong customer service background, possess excellent computer and organizational skills, and champion a welcoming/friendly demeanor
Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Medical Terminology
Working knowledge of eye anatomy, retina disease, and ocular medications
Basic to advanced computer skills required
Strong written and verbal communication
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate Degree or higher/ equivalent working experience
Russian Speaking
Salary: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience

Job Summary
We are a fast-paced, high-quality oral and maxillofacial surgery practice seeking a skilled and compassionate Oral Surgical/Dental Assistant to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented,and thrives in a team orientented surgical setting. You will work alongside our surgeons to provide exceptional patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. This position requires a blend of technical proficiency, patient communication, and administrative accuracy.
General Duties
Prepare surgical rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterile materials prior to procedures
Assist oral surgeons during outpatient procedures including extractions, dental implants, biopsies, and IV sedation cases
Monitor and support patients during sedation and recovery, ensuring safety and comfort
Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control protocols in compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines
Take diagnostic X-rays, including panoramic and periapical images, using proper radiographic techniques
Provide pre-operative and post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers
Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation and charting in the practice management software
Ensure patient consent forms are properly signed and documented prior to treatment
Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and restock surgical trays as needed
Collaborate closely with front office and surgical staff to support efficient clinical operations
Exhibit professionalism, empathy, and strong communication skills in patient interactions
Respond appropriately to medical emergencies under the supervision of the surgeon
Participate in continuing education and staff meetings to support practice excellence and compliance
Job Qualifictions
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 12 years of experience as a dental assistant or surgical assistant in a dental or oral surgery setting
Certification in Dental Radiography/X-ray (Required)
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR (Required OR willing to be certified within 3 months of starting work)
Familiarity with sterile techniques and surgical instrument handling
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a clinical environment
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to interact with patients and team members
Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar)
Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress or emergency situations
Professional appearance and demeanor
