Trains and onboards new Medical Assistants. Ensures accurate and timely patient flow by all Medical Assistants. Acts and a liaison between management and staff. What you'll do Clinical Care: Greet and triage patients, collect vitals/histories, perform venipuncture and CLIA-waived point-of-care testing (COVID, flu, strep, glucose, A1C, UA, etc.), assist with minor procedures, wound care, EKGs, and nebulizer therapy. Insurance Verification & Front Desk: Register patients, verify insurance eligibility, determine financial responsibility, collect co-pays, reconcile payment logs, and maintain EMR accuracy. Patient Service: Educate patients on both clinical procedures and financial expectations, provide clear discharge instructions, and de-escalate concerns with empathy and professionalism. Team & Compliance: Participate in daily huddles, maintain compliance logs (crash cart, fridge temps, etc.), support infection-control and HIPAA standards. What We're Looking For Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Active national MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) at hire. At least 1+ year of experience with insurance verification and patient registration required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain before starting). Urgent care or emergency room experience highly valued. EMR proficiency (Experity preferred); comfort with payer portals (e.g., Waystar). Proven venipuncture and specimen collection skills. Additional requirements Must successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check as a condition of employment. PURPOSE: The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Medical Providers with day to day delivery of health care and patient care management. This position will report directly to the Office Administrator and will receive indirect supervision from the following: Physicians, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and DSG Management. SERVICE ORIENTATION: This position is patient focused with the objective of delivering superior patient care and ensuring positive patient experiences and outcomes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures an excellent patient experience with all aspects of the practice and associated interactions, including phone, in person, and online. Ensures correct and complete patient information in health record by accurate documentation of notes throughout visit. Electronic notes are to be completed the same day as patient visit.
