The research assistant will also be responsible for assisting the study coordinator in reviewing and requesting medical records. Must have experience with PC software applications including word processing. The ability and willingness to learn new software programs is also required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Medicalassistant / Phlebotomist with at least one to two years of clinical experience (certification preferred) or a laboratory technician with at least one to two years of clinical experience.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities
* Provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting
* Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam
* Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
* Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
* Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure
* Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing
* Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
* Respond to all lab messages and call back requests
* Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
* Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure
* Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis
* Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures

* Maintain complete and accurate documentation
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
* Cross-train for front desk when needed
Requirements include:
MedicalAssistant Certificate
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Must be available to work: Day Shift, Night Shift, Weekdays, Weekends.
Possess exceptional customer service skills
Phlebotomy (Preferred)
Bilingual (Spanish)
Schedule:
* Must be able to work: Weekdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

We're looking for someone to join our team as a MedicalAssistant I who:

Essential Functions:

* Perform Venipuncture among other lab duties.
* Document pertinent patient information, nursing procedures, and patient response in the Electronic Health Records System (ERH), following established guidelines and maintaining patient confidentiality.

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:
* Completion of an accredited MedicalAssistant Program Required.
* Possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Card required.
* Possess and maintain a California Driver's license.
* Venipuncture experience preferred at time of hire, competency must be obtained within one (1) year of hire date. Current staff must receive competency in venipuncture within one (1) year of the job descriptions revision date.
* Experience in EHR Documentation is highly desired.
* Must adhere to Clinica Sierra Vista's employee health/immunization requirements or provide a valid exemption request for subsequent approval.
