RESPONSIBILITIES
Hospital Corpsmen (HM) assist health care professionals in providing medical care to Navy personnel and their families. They may function as clinical or specialty technicians, medical administrative personnel and healthcare providers at medical treatment facilities. Specifically, Hospital Corpsmen may be called upon to:
Perform emergency medical treatment on SEALs, Seabees, Marines and other military personnel injured in the field, as well as on Sailors aboard ships or aircraft
Perform emergency dental treatment as well as construct dental crowns and bridges, process
dental X-rays and operate X-ray equipment
Serve as an operating room technician for general and specialized surgery
Help administer a wide range of preventive care and medications, including immunizations and intravenous fluids
Conduct physical examinations and assisting in the treatment of diseases and injuries
Maintain patient treatment records, conduct research and perform clinical tests
Assist Navy Physicians and Nurses in a variety of medical fields, including, but not limited to: radiology, physical therapy, phlebotomy, dental, surgery, family medicine, pathology, womens health and more

The primary goal is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the physician. It will be the responsibility of the Medical Scribe to annotate any dictated or written information for the treatment of patients following all local, state and federal guidelines for documentation into the electronic health record system. The Medical Scribe will be responsible for clearly recording each patient's symptoms, history, physical exam and documenting the diagnosis. This position will have no direct involvement in patient care but has an interdepartmental role in assisting nursing and front office staff.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary role of the Medical Scribe is to assist the clinician with documentation of each patient's medical chart during his or her visit.
Accompany the clinician into the patient examination area to transcribe a history and physical examination as given by the patient and physician.
Document any procedures performed by the clinician or nurses, on the electronic medical chart.
Is an expert in the use of various templates and documentation techniques available in the EHR system and uses these tools efficiently so individual encounters can be well documented, as well as accurately congregate data collected for statistical reporting.
Transcribes any consultations or discussions with family members and/or the clinician.
Completes the patient's chart by transcribing results of any labs, x-rays, or other evaluations. In doing so, the scribe continuously checks on the progress of this data to get the patient's workup complete so that the clinician is able to make his or her decisions regarding that patient.
Orders in-house testing, Immunizations, lab testing, diagnostic testing along with generating referrals.
Lists all proper diagnoses as well as any follow up instructions and prescriptions, as dictated by the clinician.

The Redding Rancheria is seeking a MedicalAssistant. The preferred schedule for this position will be discussed upon an employment offer.
Under the direction of the assigned Nursing Supervisor and/or Director of Nursing, works as an integral part of the healthcare team, responsible for the facilitation and delivery of high quality, direct patient care.
REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification as MedicalAssistant or 2 years of related healthcare experience or education related to medicalassistant.
Knowledge of medical terminology/procedures, human anatomy and medical law/ethics.
CPR certification required.
Must be able to function and perform in a fast paced environment, problem solve, be a self starter and active team player.
Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
Must be fingerprinted and pass background check.
Indian preference.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Works as a collaborative part of the healthcare team to assist with initial admission of patients to the Health Center. Tasks include, but not limited to, new patient intake/data entry, processing of release of information (ROI), providing support and guidance to medical reception staff and coordination with medical records, gathering health information for the medical providers.
Responsible for the intake of patients for appointments, which includes verification of check-in procedures, review of medical screenings (depression, domestic violence), timely rooming, obtaining vital signs of patients (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, pain levels, oxygen saturations) ; confirms chief complaints/reason for visit ; reviews patient medical history, allergies, medications, and confirms information in Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Anticipates medical provider's needs, and is proficient in set-up of medical procedures, including but not limited to, performing and/or preparing ordered lab specimens, procedural tray set-up for vasectomies, circumcisions, IUD placement/removals, sutures, casts, pap and pelvic examinations.
Responsible for data entry of patient information for compliance with quality measures (Quality Improvement Process (QIP); Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA), and Partnership Measures (as applicable) for facility reimbursement.
Assists with patient flow management- acts as a liaison to inform patients of current status, wait time, relays pertinent information to providers and is responsible to facilitate follow-up scheduling of appointments and/or rescheduling as needed.
Participates in patient education, ensuring the patient is provided resources to enhance understanding of medications, treatments, disease management, expectations and when to follow-up if needed. Assist with providing explanation of treatments and procedures at the start of applicable appointments.
Proficient and responsible for the delivery of routine immunizations, including the ability to perform rights of medication administration (right drug, dose, route, reason, patient, time, documentation), the ability to identify appropriate injection sites (adult / well-child; and adhere to antiseptic technique with medication preparation and delivery.

The Medication Technician is responsible for supervising and assisting in the administration of medications to residents as ordered and in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and practices of the company. In addition, the Medication Technician will provide direct personal care, encourage residents to participate in activities, and work with housekeepers and maintenance staff in accordance with the company s mission, vision, and values.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and distribute medication to residents.
Coordinate medication services with the resident, pharmacy, and physician.
Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records.
Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
Qualifications:
Prefer one (1) year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
Must be at least 18 years of age.
A high school diploma or equivalent; a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a plus.
Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
