Performs preliminary intake of vitals and determines need for immunizations, lead screening, preventative exams, and other health maintenance recommendations for specific age groups.
Performs in-house CLIA Waived laboratory tests (urinalysis, pregnancy tests, strep, etc.) Observes manufacturer instructions and ensures quality controls have been performed each day.
May assist with referral and tracking for routine visits, ancillary services, and external providers, notes tracking in medical record and in the appropriate software program as indicated by CHCCC.
Greets patients using two patient identifiers, escorts them to examination room, assists in monitoring patient waiting areas, including patient examination rooms in the event of an acute situation, and to minimize the patient's waiting and maximize the utilization of the provider and the clinic.
Acts to minimize the emotional discomfort associated with an office visit. Provides comfort and encouragement for patients with anxiety.
Maintains clean and safe patient areas. Follows safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
Ensure appropriate documentation of immunizations, intake, vitals, medication reconciliation, etc., in electronic medical record.
May act as an interpreter, using proper and formal grammar, when necessary between the patient and provider.
Cleans and disinfects instruments and prepares for sterilization by placing instruments in appropriate solution(s) as per manufacturers and CHC guidelines.
Answers telephones to take messages, completes all task in inbox and assists in patient needs, and ensures that all messages are answered at the end of each day.
Attends meetings and trainings as required by the supervisor.
Ability to work with high volume of patients, internal/external customers, and deal with frequent changes, delay or unexpected events.
Demonstrates adherence to and observes all safety policies and procedures, inclusive of infection control rules and regulations.

Responsible for following the Standard/Universal Precautions by hand washing, using PPE, basic knowledge infection control and medical waste management for clinic setting.
Responsible to “room” patients, do the intake notes, including vital signs and complete NextGen MA Workflow.
Responsible for managing the “tasks” that includes clearing tasks inbox daily, sending and receiving tasks.
Work as back-up reception.
Maintain and manage NextMD message retrieval and responses.
Handle complaints in a responsible and professional manner.
Maintain a clean work area.
Assist with submission of referrals for the providers as appropriate, utilizing online process when applicable.
Able to create and send tasks through EHR.
Take messages and answer them in a timely matter through EHR.
Stay current on NextGen and EZCAP updates.
Assist in flowing back office patients with any clerical needs or follow up instructions.
Process all incoming correspondence ensuring the following are completed prior to giving the provider: must have patient's chart number, last visit, next visit date, refill requests, reports, results, paperwork, utilizing online process when applicable.
Understand the referral process and how to advise patients.
Knowledge of patient forms: DMV, physical, handicap placard, disability, etc.
Will act as the provider liaison for patients, will answer calls and do all you can to work with the provider to obtain an answer solution to their question.
Obtain approved prescriptions for the administration in the department.
Responsible for data entry and management of vaccinations in the CAIR website.
Administer medication as prescribed within scope of practice.
Initiate/participate in Code White, Code Blue, and Code Red situations as they arise within scope of practice.
Responsible for performing “nurse only” visits with appropriate documentation:
Provider's signature
Task provider for completion
Responsible for updating health maintenance on all preventative reports:
Dexa Scan
Eye Exam
Mammogram
Pap Smear
Colonoscopy, etc.
Responsible to ensure all hospital notes have been retrieved prior to appointment for provider review on all EHR and HD's.
Responsible for activating the Chain of Command if there are abnormal vital signs which is to report to MD/provider immediately.
Access EZ CAP to verify referrals and update appointments.
Responsible for working with Pharmacist at Physicians Plaza Pharmacy on ensuring prescriptions are correct and medications are ordered.
Responsible for working with referring providers to ensure prescriptions for patient medical administering is complete.
