The Navy relies on exceptional medical personnel to keep our servicemen and women healthy. As a Hospital Corpsman, youll get to try your hand at just about everything while making a huge difference for the Sailors you serve.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Hospital Corpsmen (HM) assist health care professionals in providing medical care to Navy personnel and their families. They may function as clinical or specialty technicians, medical administrative personnel and healthcare providers at medical treatment facilities. Specifically, Hospital Corpsmen may be called upon to:
Perform emergency medical treatment on SEALs, Seabees, Marines and other military personnel injured in the field, as well as on Sailors aboard ships or aircraft
Perform emergency dental treatment as well as construct dental crowns and bridges, process
dental X-rays and operate X-ray equipment
Serve as an operating room technician for general and specialized surgery
Help administer a wide range of preventive care and medications, including immunizations and intravenous fluids
Conduct physical examinations and assisting in the treatment of diseases and injuries
Maintain patient treatment records, conduct research and perform clinical tests
Assist Navy Physicians and Nurses in a variety of medical fields, including, but not limited to: radiology, physical therapy, phlebotomy, dental, surgery, family medicine, pathology, womens health and more

A Kaizen's primary role is to protect, sustain, and nurture the elders by providing assistance with activities of daily living, and meeting other needs as required. The core goal of the work of the Kaizen will be to provide assistance, which promotes a high quality of life and a positive elderhood. The Kaizen is a member of a team and is responsible for coordinating aspects of the team's work.
Key Responsibilities/Duties
Pass medications to elders within scope of med aide licensure.
Report changes in the elder's condition to the clinical support team per neighborhood change in condition protocols.
Assist elder with personal care functions, including dental and mouth care, bathing, dressing and grooming, bowel and bladder care and other personal and hygiene care.
Meet with the clinical support team as scheduled or needed, to discuss elders needs and progress in identifying and correcting problems attend and contribute to the elders' scheduled care plan meetings.
Report accidents and incidents when they occur.
Assist with and/or perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as outlined by the service agreement.
Observe standard precautions per Brewster Infection Control policy(ies).
Measure and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, respirations, weight, height, anatomical dimension/circumference, etc.
Plan and implement life enhancement programming for each individual elder and document appropriately in clinical record.
Record care data on electronic health record (EHR) for each elder at the time of service.
Report any resident abuse or suspected abuse to the mentor immediately after moving elder to safety if necessary.
Maintain confidentiality and privacy of elder care, procedure, and documentation.
Clean and maintain the environment of the household.
Attend and participate in orientation programs, on-going training and educational classes.

The CMA provides direct personal care services to Residents in the home and assures that all company policies and procedures, standards and Residents rights are observed during his/her assignment in the home.
Position Requirements
Adhere to the Resident Assessment and Care Plan for each of the Residents in the home.
Provide skilled personal assistance with bathing, dressing, oral care, grooming and any other assistance needed to assure that all personal needs are met completely, in a timely manner.
Provide dignified assistance for incontinent residents.
Administer medication to Residents (if certified by the State as CMA) in accordance with State regulations and training standards, assuring that all medication charts are kept up to date.
Maintain an accurate Narcotic Count following the policies and procedures of the company. Any discrepancies will need to be communicated to the Nursing Supervisor or On Call IMMEDIATELY.
Assurance that all Resident care logs, charts, records, journals, etc. are kept current.
Be knowledgeable at all times regarding Resident behavior problems; effect and effectiveness of medications; changes in behavior, appetite, sleeping habits; doctor's appointments; family outings; and other pertinent information. Report any changes, accidents or incidents involving a Resident to a Supervisor or On Call IMMEDIATELY.
Communicate with CNA's and other CMA's on any changes of Resident Care that has been passed on by the previous shifts from LPN's or RN's.
Keep the home clean, orderly, organized, and safe at all times, and does the laundry of the home and the Residents on a regular basis.
Prepare meals according to the menu plans (including special dietary needs) and follow the daily schedule as well as follow all the other kitchen protocols.
Provides focused individual Resident interaction and activities in accordance with each Residents Assessment and Care Plan, assuring appropriate movement, exercise and mental stimulation for each Resident in the home.
Is knowledgeable of KDADS care regulations and compliance requirements.
Interact with Residents, families, and other staff in a professional manner.
Participate in all the required staff education meetings.
Perform other reasonable duties as requested by Management.
Monitor over condition of the property including yard, upkeep, trash removal, snow removal, etc. and refers all home or yard maintenance problems to the Management.
Act in the best interest of Home of the Flint Hills at all times.
