RESPONSIBILITIES
Hospital Corpsmen (HM) assist health care professionals in providing medical care to Navy personnel and their families. They may function as clinical or specialty technicians, medical administrative personnel and healthcare providers at medical treatment facilities. Specifically, Hospital Corpsmen may be called upon to:
Perform emergency medical treatment on SEALs, Seabees, Marines and other military personnel injured in the field, as well as on Sailors aboard ships or aircraft

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certification AND six (6) months of medicalassistance work experience OR enrollment in a certified MedicalAssistant (MA) Program or certification from a valid educational institute.

Job Summary
Core to the ArchWell Health approach is to have a robust clinical care team focused on the needs of our members. Care teams are responsible for delivering excellent and compassionate primary care and coordinating the care of our members with the broader healthcare delivery system. The MedicalAssistant - Internal Float (MA-Float) is a critical role to flexibly support our members and their families from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave the centers. The MA-Float may be asked to serve in front office or direct patient care activities, depending on center and member needs. This role supports the PCP day-to-day and ensure efficiency in the care provided to patients. MAs work closely and collaboratively with their teammates to greet, schedule, and room ArchWell Health members. S/he will be expected to assist in assessing patient's health conditions, including performing routine diagnostic testing during appointments. The MA-Float may be asked to provide coverage outside of their primary center.
Duties/Responsibilities
Welcome members upon arrival and help them feel safe and at home, navigating through a seamless and clear check-in process
Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals for a multi-disciplinary care team
Update member information in the electronic medical records system
Request medical records and upload documentation to electronic medical records system
Conduct intake with patients, measuring and recording vital signs, patient interview, and medical history; perform examinations and routine screenings, ensuring patients are informed and all questions and concerns are addressed for each procedure
Critically listen and engage with patients throughout appointment, ensuring needs and/or changing in patient conditions are reported to PCP, specialists, and/or other clinical personnel
Perform all tasks with a hyper focus on patient experience, including answering of incoming calls and processing of patient phone messages, including returning calls; routing calls to other team members as appropriate; and calling patients to obtain and relay pertinent information for the physician
Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures and other first aid procedures; use CPR skills when necessary, all under physician supervision
Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and conduct accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times
Assist with center events, as needed

Certified MedicalAssistant needed for contract position with potential for multiple extensions and ongoing
MA shall provide services as permitted within the scope of practice for MedicalAssistant (MA) Services in accordance with Institution\/Facility policies and procedures. Duties\/Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:
Assist patient\/youth with activities of daily living and provide nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse;
Obtain specimens for diagnostic testing
Prepare documentation for patient\/youth transfers to other Institutions\/Facilities or trips to specialty appointments
Complete all required documentation of patient\/youth care, provide written or oral reports, and record entries in log books
Clean, maintain, and check equipment
Check inventory, order and check supplies
Requirements

Visual acuity and manual lensometry
Visual fields, stereo testing, and motility evaluation
Pupillary function tests, color vision, and applanation tonometry
Refractometry, dilation of pupils, and contact lens evaluations
Imaging and diagnostics (OCT, HRT, GDx, pachymetry, corneal topography)
Support physicians with additional tasks as needed
