This job requires adaptability, critical thinking, and exceptional listening skills. This is a paid position requiring some holidays and weekends. Job duties include the following: Listen to and translate into sensible electronic form the treatment, services, and plans discussed by the physician during ICU clinical rounds. Quickly and efficiently type in the EMR all encounters performed by the physician during daily rounds in a manner and format as required by both the practice and individual physician preferences. Type into the EMR proper diagnoses, care plans, medications, and discharge/follow-up instructions. Check on the progress of, and retrieve reports and other information (labs, x-rays, etc) for the providers to review. Requirements: Must be able to type at speed of 90 wpm or greater. Must be 20 years of age or older with a strong knowledge base of medical terminology. Knowledge of vocabulary used in the ICU setting is highly preferred but not required. 1 year of scribing experience HIGHLY PREFERRED Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time while following the physician during rounds and patient visits. Must be able to handle highly confidential information within HIPAA regulations. Must be willing to work mostly EVENING and WEEKEND shifts. We're looking for 8-12 shifts per month with each shift averaging 3-5 hours each including holidays and weekends on a rotating basis.

As a Medical Assistant-Scribe of our practice, you will be responsible for providing and assisting the provider in the clinical documentation necessary during a clinical visit under direct supervision of the provider. While demonstrating positive attitude, actions and behaviors towards team members, patients, vendors, referring offices and all parties interacted with while providing quality service. This behavior should promote an atmosphere of teamwork which is congruent with facility standards and guidelines to promote positive relations. ***Opened position for our Phoenix and West Valley locations. Responsibilities: Ability to navigate EHR to retrieve and enter documentation. Maintain working knowledge of common medications, including dosages and indications. Troubleshoot incorrect medication orders and bring to provider's attention. Access UDS/Oral Swab results and relay information to provider as appropriate. Document all visit information as instructed by the provider. Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT Codes. General knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Works as a liaison with administrative and billing department to ensure accurate documentation as expressed by the provider. Ensures provider completes all steps of discharge process. Troubleshoot data entry errors and corrects or escalates to HER manager in a timely manner. Review phone notes and communicate with triage. Able to communicate directly with patient in person or by electronic method. Assist MA's with workflow as needed. Able to assist with administrative duties such as assigning documents and clerical duties. Schedule appointment when appropriate. Skills: Proven working experience as a medical assistant, front and/or back-office experience. Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures. Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work. Social perceptiveness and service oriented. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and planning skills. Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software. Requirements: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license preferred. Medical Assistant experience is preferred. Pain management experience preferred. Bilingual, not required but preferred. Willing to travel to multiple locations, if/as needed.
