Position Summary:
Carries out a wide range of routine tasks to support laboratory operations, including performing venipunctures on inpatient and outpatient populations throughout the hospital. Ensures the accurate and safe collection and processing of laboratory specimens from patients of all ages, following established procedures and hospital policies.
Responsible for delivering high-quality, customer-focused laboratory services, including full patient registration, specimen collection, specimen processing, and related duties. Maintains essential equipment and supplies, communicates effectively with laboratory staff and external contacts, and serves as a resource for phlebotomy technicians.
Key Responsibilities: Lab Registration:
Registers and orders specimens received from clients into EPIC & SunQuest.
Receives, verifies, and enters patients, tests, and information into EPIC & SunQuest according to policy.
Generate barcode labels, label specimens, print outstanding specimen list.
Respond to telephone inquiries regarding specimen, patient test results and related information, forwards technical questions to lab Supervisor or laboratory director, as appropriate.
Distributes Specimens to various areas within the laboratory.
Files requisitions.
Maintains safe working environment.
Acts as a resource to assist in the training of other personnel.
Troubleshoots outpatient requisitions as necessary.
Performs other clinical laboratory assistant duties and responsibilities as required at the direction of lab supervisor.
Photocopies requisitions for billing/compliance team requiring ICD-10 coding and participates in billing inquiries as requested.
Specimen Collection:
Perform phlebotomy on inpatient and outpatient populations using the stated procedural policies.
Perform therapeutic phlebotomies
Monitors workflow using the specimen tracker.
Reviews SunQuest Collect to ensure all tests have been obtained. And notates any time constraints in SunQuest.
Adheres to proper handling of specimens.
Resolves patient identification problems with appropriate care unit. Contacts care units to report specimen problems such as inaccurate labeling, incorrect sample, improper packaging, and handling. Records of events in Logs.
Follows standard precaution and wears PPE to perform tasks as indicated in the Safety Manual.
Communicates with lead or supervisory personnel regarding any unusual problems.
Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
Demonstrates use of quality improvement in daily operations.
Receives specimens from couriers and checks manifests to verify appropriate count.
Sort's specimen collection labels, adding, canceling and combining test to decrease repeat venipunctures.
Answers telephone calls and communicates pertinent information. Send specimens and carriers to various sites using a pneumatic tube. Performs minor troubleshooting of pneumatic tube, placing a work order when necessary.
Specimen Processing/Send Outs:
Processes specimens including centrifugation, aliquoting, labeling.
Prepares specimens to be sent to referral laboratories; obtains proper detailed information pertaining to sample requirements such as test codes, appropriate specimen type and volume needed, process and deliver specimens to appropriate departments.
Package and send specimens to the appropriate Reference Laboratory for specimen requirements.
Qualification & Experience:
Dexterity sufficient to manipulate instrumentation.
Ability to read, understand and follow written procedures.
Ability to communicate adequately with all laboratory clients.
Basic clerical/data entry skills preferred.
Excellent Client relations skills required.

Responsibilities
Under direction of the Office Manager, Clinical Coordinator or designee and the MedicalAssistant Scope of practice, perform a variety of medicalassisting duties both within and in support of the assigned Medical Office(s) within Southcoast Physicians Group. Under the supervision of primary care providers/nurses, and in collaboration with clinic team members and patients and families (as defined by patient), provide the highest quality of care and treatment for all patients. Assist providers with patient care and procedures. Facilitate efficient flow of patients through the clinic or medical office. May be responsible for telephone communication with patients including communication of test results, surgery schedules, procedures and providing appropriate counsel and follow-up under the direction of a designated supervisor. Utilize an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and other related software to update and/or access patient information, as appropriate. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
Qualifications
* Must be enrolled in MedicalAssistant track at a technical high school and status qualifies for cooperative program with evidence of specialized courses and training.
* BLS certification is required.
* Prior experience in using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and/or health-related computer software is preferred.
* Completion of three (3) years of medicalassistance program in technical school and eligibility criteria met for cooperative program is required.
* Satisfactory enrollment criteria met for cooperative program at technology school is required.
* Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired
Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Associate Registrar, the Registrar Records Assistant provides critical support throughout the Workday Student implementation process. This position is designed as a backfill during this period of change, ideal for someone who's detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to a student-centered approach to service.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting data testing and validation during the Workday Student implementation to ensure information accuracy and system reliability.
Coordinating and implementing the degree auditing process for the Boston Conservatory at Berklee under the guidance of the Senior Associate Registrar.
Exporting transcript information and organizing degree audit templates based on program and matriculation year.
Tracking graduation progress and maintaining notes and documentation for review and approval.
Collaborating with Department Chairs on degree requirement updates and resolving individual student audit issues.
Providing registration operations support for PowerCampus during the transition, including system setup, term settings, grading access, and registration configurations.
Serving as a regular contact for Conservatory academic leadership on registration operations matters.
Assisting with data cleanup, transfer articulation, and other data integrity projects to support the successful rollout of Workday Student.

* Attend department meetings as needed or directed to optimize ability to stay up-to-date with initiatives that will improve physician workflows and implement changes as directed by administrative management. Communicate with administrative management and/or assigned physicians to troubleshoot any potential discrepancies.
* Assist with other administrative clerical duties related to factors affecting physician clinics to improve physician workflow as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
* High School Diploma/GED required
* Associate's degree in health science or another medical field preferred
Experience:
