This position supports the SCHD mission by helping promote wellness, providing client education, and performing testing to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted infections. The employee may also provide support during public health emergencies (Activation Level 1). Patient Care * Provide direct patient care to assigned percentage of encounters based on staffing availability. * Schedule screening and diagnostic tests according to medical protocols and advanced practice provider orders, including scheduling and referrals with outside providers * Administer and prepare appropriate pharmacologic agents under provider orders. * Maintain HIPAA and protect client confidentiality * Rotate with other Medical Assistant staff to serve as the primary call center contact for clinical inquiries, including answering incoming calls, triaging client questions, and scheduling appointments according to established protocols Documentation * Complete required program data collection forms (DAISEY/program performance measure logs) by the end of business day. * Obtain, review, and document accurate client medical/health history, consent(s), vital signs, lab specimen(s), and other required information in appropriate forms and electronic medical record per program policy and protocol * Respond promptly to internal/external customers questions or inquiries * Perform monthly or quarterly chart audit or clinical skill assessment as determined by supervisor and timely correction of identified errors * Maintain assigned databases and perform other administrative tasks in a timely manner Education and Outreach * Maintain current licensure, including tracking and completing continuing education * Completes County, departmental, and program-specific training * Participate in scheduled outreach opportunities Minimum Qualifications: Medical Assistant certificate from an accredited program or school.
