Outside In is a patient-centered, primary care outpatient clinic. MedicalAssistants work in a team to serve diverse, homeless, and underserved populations of all ages. MedicalAssistants will work with other staff and providers to support patient care, including clinical, administrative, mobile clinic, and general duties within the scope of the MedicalAssistant practice. MedicalAssistants may be scheduled and expected to report to work at the main clinic or various outreach sites.
Salary Range:
MedicalAssistant 1 (without certification): $23.70 to $26.16
MedicalAssistant 2 (with certification): $25.64 to $28.30
Essential Duties
* Obtain and document patient history, vital signs, and other established screening procedures.
* Assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
* Prepare and administer medications, injections and immunizations.
* Recognize and respond to emergencies.
* Apply principles of aseptic technique and infection control.
* Perform CLIA waived tests (HgbA1C, HIV, Hgb, UA, and Strep).
* Work as part of Mobile Medical Outreach.
* Performs basic administrative medicalassisting functions.
* Facilitate relationships between providers and referral coordinators to assure image scheduling and referrals to other agencies and medical specialists.
* Treat all patients with compassion and empathy.
* Explain methods of health and disease prevention
* Participate in quality improvement and workflow development
* Assist in training of medicalassistants.
* Comply with established risk management and safety procedures including all required trainings.
