RESPONSIBILITIES
Hospital Corpsmen (HM) assist health care professionals in providing medical care to Navy personnel and their families. They may function as clinical or specialty technicians, medical administrative personnel and healthcare providers at medical treatment facilities. Specifically, Hospital Corpsmen may be called upon to:
Perform emergency medical treatment on SEALs, Seabees, Marines and other military personnel injured in the field, as well as on Sailors aboard ships or aircraft
Perform emergency dental treatment as well as construct dental crowns and bridges, process
dental X-rays and operate X-ray equipment
Serve as an operating room technician for general and specialized surgery
Help administer a wide range of preventive care and medications, including immunizations and intravenous fluids
Conduct physical examinations and assisting in the treatment of diseases and injuries
Maintain patient treatment records, conduct research and perform clinical tests
Assist Navy Physicians and Nurses in a variety of medical fields, including, but not limited to: radiology, physical therapy, phlebotomy, dental, surgery, family medicine, pathology, womens health and more

The MedicalAssistant performs administrative, clinical, and financial duties for the Pima County Health Department's Tuberculosis (TB) Clinic; provides assistance to physicians, physicians' assistants, and nurse practitioners; assists registered nurse case managers by testing patients' vital signs, recording medical histories, taking blood samples, and ensuring patients sign consent forms prior to consultation with the case manager.
Essential Functions:
As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, this classification may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Ensures that the clinic and equipment are cleaned, disinfected, and organized, and that activities conducted within the clinic comply with quality assurance practices, as well as risk management, safety, and infection control procedures;
Triages patients, takes readings of vital signs, draws blood samples, performs CLIA-waived tests, and assists patients to complete mandatory information and consent forms prior to consultation and examination by the registered nurse case manager;
Assists case managers with examinations, medical procedures, and treatment of patients including, but not limited to dispensing medication and providing information on the treatment and prevention of TB;
Performs daily checks on the TB Air Monitoring System, room temperatures, and the laboratory and medication refrigerators' temperatures to ensure they are set within the recommended optimal range;
Performs various administrative tasks including, but not limited to maintaining patients' medical charts and files, arranging collection and delivery of laboratory samples and patient's medication, monitoring and recording medication inventories, scheduling consultations, x-rays, and routine TB-related tests for patients, and registering patients with emocha Health and Straight Talk Prevention Services.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certification AND six (6) months of medicalassistance work experience OR enrollment in a certified MedicalAssistant (MA) Program or certification from a valid educational institute.

Job Summary & Responsibilities Correctional Facility Eloy, AZ FT DAYS \- 4, 10 hr shifts (0800\-1800) OR 5, 8 hr shifts\/wk (0900\-1700) $20.13 Hourly
Certified MedicalAssistant needed for contract position with potential for multiple extensions and ongoing
MA shall provide services as permitted within the scope of practice for MedicalAssistant (MA) Services in accordance with Institution\/Facility policies and procedures. Duties\/Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:
Assist patient\/youth with activities of daily living and provide nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse;
Obtain specimens for diagnostic testing
Prepare documentation for patient\/youth transfers to other Institutions\/Facilities or trips to specialty appointments
Complete all required documentation of patient\/youth care, provide written or oral reports, and record entries in log books
Clean, maintain, and check equipment
Check inventory, order and check supplies
Requirements
MUST be a Certified MedicalAssistant
BLS (American Heart Association)
One or more years of MA experience
