Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and chemical sterilizers.
Monitor sterilization cycles and ensure that all instruments are processed according to regulatory standards.
Ensure that supplies are stored properly and securely.
Keep detailed maintenance records, schedules, and maintain accurate records of all medical supplies and equipment.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on medical equipment as needed and coordinate with manufacturers or service providers for more complex repairs.
Inspect medical instruments for cleanliness and functionality prior to sterilization.
Disassemble instruments as needed and remove any debris or organic matter.

Position Responsibilities
Professors of Practice have a primary commitment to programmatic needs for instruction, engagement, and professional development of students. This position requires teaching four undergraduate courses per semester. Course priorities include health and cultural anthropology, and other related courses. Teaching will also include foundational courses in the Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts Program. Teaching load may include large lectures and multiple sections of the same course. Purdue provides resources to support Professor of Practice initiatives, including professional development.

Qualifications: A PhD in Anthropology or a closely related discipline is required at the time of appointment; a PhD in Anthropology is preferred. Candidates should have a background in health anthropology, teaching experience, and be prepared to support student professional development.
