Centurion is proud to be the provider of medical and behavioral health services to the Delaware Department of Correction.
We are currently seeking a part-time Certified Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our teams at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center located in Smyrna, Delaware.


Responsibilities



The Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist works under the direction of the RN or LPN and is responsible for drawing blood, checking vital signs, taking finger stick blood sugars, and assisting with activities of daily living for patients in a correctional healthcare environment. The Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist may also implement orders for diagnostic lab tests, record EKGs, maintain and clean medical equipment, collect data for Quality Improvement programs, and assist the physician with minor procedures as assigned.


Qualifications



Current National Medical Assistant license/certification required Experience in phlebotomy required Current CPR documentation required Corrections experience preferred Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check


Available Shift



Part-time (16hrs/week; two 8hr shifts) from 8a-4:30p, rotating weekdays and every other weekend.

Minimum Requirements:

Phlebotomy training and experience in hospital setting preferred


Prior experience in hospital laboratory receiving area preferred


Excellent Phlebotomy skills are required


A broad knowledge of laboratory tests and experience with Microsoft Office preferred


Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology or equivalent in phlebotomy preferred


Prior experience with Cerner Millennium and EPIC APM preferred


Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, skills, and creative abilities
