Responsibilities
Prepare exam rooms and ensure availability of necessary equipment, supplies, and patient information (lab results) prior to visit.
Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and the coordination of care during patient encounters.
Perform direct patient care, including room, taking vital signs, weights, administering medications, vaccines, injections, and conducting waives testing (glucose, urine dipstick, EKGs)
Administer medications per protocol and only after verification with licensed personnel.
Process prescription refill requests and follow established guidelines.
Collect and send lab specimens according to clinical protocol and ensure accurate documentation.
Schedule, edit, and maintain appointment for clinical visits and radiology, ensuring accuracy in the scheduling system.
Accurately collect and input patient demographic and insurance data; ensure authorizations and verifications are completed prior to visits.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe clinical and administrative areas.
Provide compassionate, responsive service by addressing patient inquiries, acting as a liaison, and support patients through the care process.
Communicate patient concerns, symptoms, or changes promptly to licensed clinical staff and assist with patient messaging as needed.

MedicalAssistant Position Overview:
As a MedicalAssistant, you will play a vital role in patient care and support within our practice. Payment Processing: Handle patient payments and inquiries accurately and confidentially.
Front Desk Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk area. Ensure that all necessary materials, forms, and supplies are readily available.
Communication: Collaborate effectively with the team to relay important patient information and ensure seamless patient flow.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a MedicalAssistant or in a similar clinical role is required; experience in medical aesthetics is a plus.
Certification from an accredited MedicalAssistant program is preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities
Process medical supply requests, including pulling, replenishing, and monitoring stock levels (including expiration dates and critical supplies)
Conduct daily inventory using barcoding technology
Distribute supplies based on requirements and delivering them in a timely and functional condition
Provide information to customers and address concerns related to medical supplies
Prepare specialty carts and clean assigned areas according to aseptic principles
Receive supplies into the medical center inventory system
Manage and distribute consumable supplies, sterile supplies throughout the facility
Utilize automated point of use systems in wards, clinics, and operating rooms
Follow all VA policies and procedures for medical supplies management
Complete all mandatory VA training as required
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in medical supply processing, storage, and distribution
Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently
Knowledge of sterile and unsterile medical supplies and equipment
Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during work shift
Familiarity with automated inventory management systems preferred
Experience with barcoding inventory control systems preferred
Knowledge of aseptic techniques and proper cleaning procedures
Ability to successfully pass a government background investigation
U.S. citizenship required
Pay Range: $35.00 - $39.93 hourly

Responsibilities
Scribe-Specific Tasks and Duties:
The primary role of the scribe is to assist the provider with documentation of each patient's clearly recording each patient's symptoms, history, physical exam, and documenting the diagnosis as well as treatment plans in the medical record during a clinic visit.
At the start of the visits scribes checks the “document scribed” checkbox on the intake template at the top center.
Accompanies the clinician into the patient examination area, or joins the appointment remotely by telephone, in order to transcribe a history and physical examination as given by the patient and provider.
Under the direction of the provider, transcribes and places patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, referrals, etc.
Documents any procedures performed by the provider or nurses in the EHR.
Transcribes any consultation or discussions with family and/or the provider.
Completes the patient's chart by transcribing results of any labs, x-rays, or other evaluations. In doing so, the scribe continuously checks on the progress of this data in order to get the patient's workup complete so that the provider is able to make his/her decisions regarding that patient.
Scribe lists all proper diagnoses as well as any follow up instructions and prescriptions, as dictated by the provider.
Scribe does not directly assist with patient care. The scribe documents orders generated by the provider.
Scribe assists the provider and support staff with paperwork, telephone calls, faxing, and chart abstraction and may facilitate communication among the care team.
Scribe is able to process portal communications and either task to appropriate member of the care team or get information from the provider to respond to the patient in a timely way.
The Medical Scribe does not perform the following:
Medications: A scribe cannot prescribe medications. Scribes cannot stop, start, or make any manipulation to any medications in the "medication module”.
Orders: A scribe cannot order any in-house medications that are injected, ingested, or inhaled into the body including nebulizer treatments.
Document Sign Off: The provider should always review the record and attest to its correctness and completeness. At the end of the day or shift, the provider should review the scribed documentation to ensure all events were recorded accurately. The provider generates the document, creating the completed "Master IM." The scribe does not.
Patient Care: The scribe is not directly involved with patient care; can't touch the patient; can't handle bodily fluids; can't act independently without direct clinical oversight; conduct other duties while acting as the medical scribe; however, he/she may be asked to give patient paperwork during visit or discuss discharge instructions with a patient. The scribe can't give orders to Registered Nurses. They interact with patients on a limited level. For exceptions to this section, please see the “Optional Trainable Skills” section below.
General Documentation: A scribe cannot document any of his/her personal objective findings or be involved in any of the medical decision-making. A scribe cannot act independently; instead, he/she must simply document the provider's dictation and or/activities during the visit.
Optional Trainable Skills:
With the permission of medical/operational leadership and participation in an in-house training/competency program, a Scribe can be trained to perform vitals, room patients.
