Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); and provide patient information to provider.
Responsible for stocking supplies and maintenance of exam rooms, front desk, and reception area; ensure providers have medical supplies needed.
Responsible for completing order sheets to maintain supply inventory levels; regularly check expiration dates on supplies.

The Medical Clerk will be responsible for maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, handling correspondence, and providing general clerical support to medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and assist with check-in/check-out procedures
Maintain and update patient medical records and files
Schedule and confirm patient appointments
Answer phones and direct calls to appropriate personnel
Process insurance forms and billing information
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Perform general office duties such as data entry, filing, scanning, and faxing

Basic Functions:
This individual will assist physician in all surgical procedures as well as patient exams. In addition, the individual will be responsible for laboratory duties such as sterilizing instruments and packaging linens, and assisting in ordering supplies and maintaining inventory of OR supplies. The individual will also be willing to learn how to process tissue in the Mohs histology lab.
Major Tasks and Duties:
Willing to travel to both locations
Assist physicians with patient exams and all surgical procedures. Obtain medical histories, take blood pressures, and administer medication as directed by physician. Also under the direction of the physician, remove sutures, bandage wounds, provide patient instructions, etc.
Greet patients and escort patients to exam rooms.
Assist with scheduling patients and answering phones.
Responsible for sterilization of instruments used in surgical procedures as needed.
Assist with maintaining inventory of surgical and laboratory supplies.
Complete daily statistical data and provide yearly totals.
Responsible for appropriate surgical set-ups.
Acts as laboratory assistant as necessary, assisting with cover-slipping of microscope slides.
Responsible for stocking and cleaning of exam and procedure room tables.
Responsible for routine care of OR equipment.
Responsible for cleanup of procedure rooms and trash collection at end of day
Responsible for answering phone calls from patients with questions.
Responsible for disinfection of procedure rooms, lab, nurses station, cleanup of instruments and lock-up of all cupboards in laboratory, exam rooms, and nurses station.
Responsible for set-up of exam rooms and lab equipment on assigned days.
Responsible for calling patients prior to surgery to review instruction and answer questions.
Willing to learn the responsibilities of the Histoech position

Qualifications:
Medicalassistant certification is not required. Employee will be provided with on the job training in specific techniques and procedures employed in dermatology, Mohs surgery, and cosmetic procedures.
