This position is for a MedicalAssistant Floater located in Jacksonville's Northside area. The role requires flexibility, dedication, and professionalism to provide quality team-based patient care under the supervision of a clinician. Responsibilities
+ Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision.
+ Support clinician and care management teams in assessing and maintaining chronic disease management.
+ Conduct laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
+ Report laboratory results to healthcare clinicians and alert them of any critical or out-of-range values.
+ Document critical reports and prepare specimens for reference lab send-outs, ensuring proper labeling, resulting, and billing information.
+ Perform and document daily/weekly/monthly quality control, including instrument maintenance.
+ Conduct patient intake vitals such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate, notifying clinicians of any abnormal findings.
+ Interview patients based on age appropriateness and specialty needs, accurately documenting and updating medical records.
+ Obtain necessary medical records, consultation notes, and diagnostic and laboratory results for clinician review and treatment follow-up.
Essential Skills
+ MedicalAssisting experience or MA Diploma/Certification required.
+ Active BLS certification.
+ Active and valid driver's license.
+ Experience in patient care, phlebotomy, and laboratory procedures.
+ Proficiency in electronic health records and medical terminology.
+ Experience with appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and triage.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in internal medicine, pediatrics, and family medicine is beneficial.

Work Environment
This is a patient-facing role primarily performed indoors. The position requires operating a computer and exposure to potential hazards. The role involves physical activities such as reaching outward and above the shoulder, manual dexterity, and occasionally lifting or carrying up to 10 lbs. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 5:00 pm, with a shift on Wednesday from 10 am to 7 pm, and Saturdays from 7:45 am to 12:30 pm on a rotational basis.

Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures and other first aid procedures; use CPR skills, when necessary, all under physician supervision.
Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and conduct accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
Provide health coaching to a defined group of patients to support healthy lifestyle choices; follows up with coached patients via weekly calls.

Fills out and maintains patient-related paperwork, including federal- and state-mandated forms, diagnostic records, and progress notes, documentation for PPD testing, pregnancy testing, labs and pap smears 8) Assists in the coordination of specialty clinics as required, including maintenance of exam rooms, supplies and clinic records 9) Tracks laboratory results and provides monthly numbers for required reports 10) Follows universal precautions to protect self and patients 11) Participates in all appropriate team meetings and required training sessions. 12) Participates in other clinical or administrative projects as assigned by the Clinic or Health Services Operations Directors

Assist Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses in developing and implementing patient care plans based on assessment findings, in collaboration with other healthcare professionals and shelter staff.
Assist with the administration of medications, vaccines, and other treatments as prescribed by physicians or within established protocols, including managing medication administration for a large number of shelter residents, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Provide basic wound care, including cleaning and dressing, with consideration for limited resources and potential environmental challenges in a shelter, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition, and report any changes or abnormalities to the appropriate medical personnel, including the ability to quickly identify and triage patients with urgent medical needs.

Collaborate with physicians, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals as well as shelter staff and volunteers to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols to prevent the spread of disease and maintain a safe environment within the shelter setting.

**Responsibilities**
Perform administrative and clerical duties in support of an assigned clinical area.
+ Greet patients and visitors, answers/screens/routes telephone calls, files, distributes mail and performs other general clerical duties.
+ Communicate with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members about patient care according to protocol.
+ Schedule patients for individual appointment and in a timely manner.
+ Provide assistance with programs/software for Physicians/Clinicians through the order entry processes, transfers and discharges.
+ Assemble and maintain patient charts.
+ Coordinate meetings/schedules meetings/rooms with the appropriate person, sends notices as requested.
+ Maintain meeting minutes.
+ Enter and maintain timekeeping changes and staff schedules in computer systems.
**Requirements**
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
+ BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
+ High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
+ Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
