About the role:
Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high-quality plasma you collect will become life-changing medicines. Here, a commitment to customer service and quality is expected. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a plasma donor screener and perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations.
How you will contribute:
· You will answer phones, and greet and focus on our donors, while ensuring the safety of donors and our team.
· You will screen new and repeat donors and take and record donor vital signs and finger stick results.
· You will use our Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.
· You will help identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company approved procedures.
· You will be there for our donors, which includes working a variety of shifts, Saturdays and Sundays, and holidays.
What you bring to Takeda:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Administer medication orally, sublingually, topically, vaginally, rectally, or by intramuscular, subcutaneous and intradermal injection (injections require additional training).
2. Completes prior authorizations for medication and imaging orders, and call in refills to a pharmacy under the direct supervision of the medical provider per Standing Orders - Prescription Refills.
3. Documents patient encounter intake based on visit type appropriately and accurately into the electronic health record. Collect and record patient data such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, height and weight, pain management, and IPV screening tool. Documentation may include but not limited to: social history, family history, surgical history, medical history, gynecology, and obstetrics history.
4. Performs procedures including but not limited to administering injections, collecting specimens, electrocardiogram, hearing test, vision tests, in-house point of care testing, lab draws, and ear lavage.
5. Apply and remove bandages and dressing to superficial incisions or lacerations; apply orthopedic appliances such as knee immobilizers, envelope slings, and similar devices. Remove sutures or staples from superficial incisions or lacerations.
6. Prepare patients for and assist the licensed healthcare professional in examinations or procedures including positioning, draping, shaving and disinfecting treatment sites.
7. Monitors pending referrals, notifies patients of lab results and diagnostic results based on providers written orders, obtains consult notes, and documents attempts within eClinicalWorks.
8. Maintains cleanliness and supplies in each patient room, completes room checklists, and notifies appropriate personnel of clinical supply shortages. Disinfects all medical equipment and exam room tables and surfaces after each patient encounter.
