Critically listen and engage with patients throughout appointment, ensuring needs and/or changing in patient conditions are reported to PCP, specialists, and/or other clinical personnel
Perform all tasks with a hyper focus on patient experience, including processing of patient phone messages, including returning calls; routing calls to other team members as appropriate; calling patients to obtain and relay pertinent information for the physician.
Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures and other first aid procedures; use CPR skills when necessary, all under physician supervision
Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and conduct accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
Provide health coaching to a defined group of patients to support healthy lifestyle choices; follows up with coached patients via weekly calls.
Candidate should have the ability to report to other regional centers with short notice. Organization will normally have schedule posted 1 week in advance, but there will be occasional needs to float candidate to other center with last minute call outs. Any travel mileage in addition to travel to home center will be reimbursed at the standard rate.

The MedicalAssistant performs administrative, clinical, and financial duties for the Pima County Health Department's Tuberculosis (TB) Clinic; provides assistance to physicians, physicians' assistants, and nurse practitioners; assists registered nurse case managers by testing patients' vital signs, recording medical histories, taking blood samples, and ensuring patients sign consent forms prior to consultation with the case manager.
Essential Functions:

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certification AND six (6) months of medicalassistance work experience OR enrollment in a certified MedicalAssistant (MA) Program or certification from a valid educational institute.

Skilled in verbal and written communication.
Coordinate all care and services required to enhance and facilitate the optimal physical and behavioral health wellness of persons served within a trauma-informed care framework. This includes:1) facilitating communication between medical and behavioral health practitioners/systems; 2) assisting with scheduling of and compliance with preventative and specialty physical health interventions; 3) integrating treatment interventions to address both the physical and behavioral health needs of the person/family concurrently; 4) assist persons/families served with education and resources outlining the interplay of physical and behavioral health issues on overall wellness and quality of life.
