What You'll Do
Provide specialized chairside support for endodontic procedures, including root canal therapy, retreatments, and emergency endodontic care
Prepare operatories with endodontic instruments, materials, and technology (apex locators, rotary systems, microscopes, CBCT scans, etc.)
Take high-quality periapical and diagnostic radiographs to support clinical decision-making
Maintain strict sterilization and infection-control protocols aligned with OSHA and CDC standards
Support patient comfort by clearly explaining steps, reducing anxiety, and anticipating needs during potentially lengthy procedures
Ensure seamless clinical flow by coordinating efficiently with the endodontist, front desk, sterilization techs, and studio team
Assist in managing follow-up care instructions, treatment notes, and documentation accuracy

What You Have
All state-required certifications, registrations, or licenses for dental assistants
Current CPR/BLS certification
Experience providing chairside assistance for endodontic procedures
Proficiency in taking diagnostic-quality periapical radiographs; CBCT familiarity a plus

• Set up equipment and instruments for procedures, vaccines, exams, and pellet insertions
• Administer vaccines and injections (if certified), following state and practice guidelines
• Perform point-of-care testing including flu, strep, urinalysis, pregnancy tests, and EKGs
• Initiate and complete all provider orders in Athena: labs, imaging, referrals, and care plans
• Process incoming lab/imaging results and communicate outcomes to patients per provider direction
• Maintain and track clinical supplies, medication inventory, expiration logs, and vaccine temperature logs
• Sterilize instruments using approved protocols; ensure OSHA and practice safety compliance
• Manage the Athena clinical message queue-triage, respond, escalate, and close tasks promptly
• Support patient flow by scheduling follow-up appointments and ensuring continuity of care
• Assist with paperwork, medical forms, prior authorizations, prescriptions, and refill protocols
