SCOPE OF ROLE
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Medical Assistant, Bilingual is responsible for a variety of patient care, technical, and clerical related functions and clinic patient flow by assisting members of the patient care team and providing a broad range of health care services. Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to support both our Amherst and Northampton office onsite Monday- Friday.
The schedule for this position is 4, 10-hour days per week, 7:30am to 6:00pm with one day off during the week! As true partners to our nurses and providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the collaborative team with rotating provider coverage.
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, procedures, and treatments as directed)
Performing clinically appropriate tasks related patient panel management (phone calls, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care, etc.)
Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas
Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferred

SUPERVISOR: Health Center Administrator
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Conduct pre-visit planning at least one day in advance of each scheduled patient appointment.
* Assist providers with patient office visits, including rooming patients, documenting patient's history, and recording vital signs.
* Prepare, administer, and document medications and/or procedures as directed by the medical provider.
* Provide counseling and health education to patients by providing necessary literature and instruction for continuity of care.
* Follow all OSHA regulations for hazardous materials.
* Prepare exam rooms, including cleaning after each patient, upkeep, and re-stocking of supplies.
* Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Graduation from an accredited nursing program, or certification as a medical assistant.
* Holds and maintains an unrestricted LPN license in the State of Ohio or holds a certified medical assistance certification.
* Holds and maintains BLS certification through the American Heart Association
* Ability to read, write and speak English
* Two to five years of community health experience preferred.
* Computer competency to include use of work processing, e-mails, and internet.
* Previous experience with electronic health record technology is preferred
