Qualifications Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED Current Medical Assistance Certification or LPN. At least 1 year relevant experience working with the severely mentally ill in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatric setting preferred. Knowledge of psychotic and mood disorders, their related medications and potential side effects, required strongly preferred. OTHER: Valid drivers' license and meets the driving privileges guidelines established in HR Policy 12.6 “Vehicle Safety and Client Transportation.” Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated success in the following areas: Ability to manage time to meet all deadlines. Ability to recognize and identify symptoms of mental illness and suicide and risk potential and respond appropriately. Good verbal and written skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities The Medical Assistant learns and becomes familiar with medical terminology, the names of instruments, how to interact with patients and provides patient care and other related clinical, laboratory, technical and support to Physicians, Midlevel Practitioner, and Assistant Manager/Lead Medical Assistant or Designee to provide direct patient care following El Centro Family Health Care Policy and Procedures. May be required to travel to perform work assignment at any ECFH Medical Clinic. Minimum requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: One (1) year of management and customer service experience in a related field required. Certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) (Must be obtained within 3 months of hire). Medical Assistant Certification - (must be obtained within 18 months of hire).
